Small spacious hotel with breath taking view to sunset over Al Ayn village got 27 well maintained rooms, swimming pool and hot water Jacuzzi. Rooms are made in the traditional stone house architecture, but air conditioned and well equipped bath room. On request, Living room sofa turns a spacious children’s bed. Rustic suite also had a kettle, satellite TV (only Arabic channels!), electronic safe and mini bar (non-alcoholic drinks). Hotel features a unique Fossil garden, rocks unearthed during the construction of the property. The in-house restaurant ‘Stars to Savour ’ (@ OMR 6 per head for buffet dinner) showcases relishing culinary sorcery and courteous staff. Jebal Akthar lacks other dining options, so in-house restaurant is the only option. Besides if you are an astronomer, Hotel also have small telescope for you. Hotel do have plenty of fossils, Reference books, antiques in the lobby, they don’t have a Jim and a microwave oven in the room. Rooms are warm, cozy and adequately furnished. As I didn’t had a SUV with 4WD to climb the mountain (mandated by Royal Oman Police), Hotel arranged pickup and drop from Birkat Al Mouz (Base of the Mountain) @ OMR 24/Trip. They will also rent SUV with Driver @ OMR 40/Half day tours. For me and family, it was a pleasant memorable holidays.
