We were a group of 11. Captured the wonderful sceneries during the costal drive from Dubai. The dhow cruises through the beautiful scenery of the Khasab Fjords .We spent about 4 hours cursing around the beautiful mountains. Several dolphins were swimming around our dhow. One time a dolphin mother and her baby dolphin raced with our dhow at high speed. It was an amazing experience with everyone filming and taking pictures. We had opportunities to swim under guidance of tour operator in-charge. It’s really relaxing & wonderful experience.

This is a 'must do' trip, whether you're a UAE resident or have family and friends visiting the UAE and one I've done on a number of occasions.
My route is usually via Ras Al Khaimah then making the pleasant drive along the panoramic coastal road.to Khasab, Oman. An overnight night stay is then followed by an enjoyable day relaxing on a wooden dhow cruising around fjord-like inlets and coves, taking in the breathtaking views of the sheer cliff faces, while looking for the dolphins that frequent the area.
The dhow trip usually includes a visit.to Telegraph Island where you can swim and snorkel in beautiful clear waters. Take your own picnic or enjoy the food and refreshments that are normally included in your dhow cruise package.
You must carry your current valid passport on the day of travel and the Oman Entry permit at the border will only be granted for those Nationalities who are entitled for a UAE visa on arrival.
It's something very different and a greatr way to enjoy your weekend away from city life.

Indeed it was an amazingly excellent driving experience from TIBAT, Oman to Khasab port. We our family started from Abu Dhabi at 7am by road and reached TIBAT, Oman driving through Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Um Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaima. Emirates Road in Dubai was an excellent scenic to capture the sand dunes and camels. UAE has a fantastic road infrastructure, thanks to their vision and efforts. We spent good time at few spots in sand dunes at road side. Border crossing procedures in UAE and Oman were both excellent as there quite a less number of tourists. Driving from Tibat to Khasab is just 35km, but its worth for the travelers to go slow and camp at the beach side through the journey. The road was the boundary line between the sea shore and mountains that takes you from ground level to the mountain height to enjoy the creation and the natural wonders. Reaching Khasab port, we booked a Dhow Cruise and they took us to the telegraphic island for those who are interested to Dive. We stopped at a spot waiting for Dolphins. Wow, it was an wonderful experience to spot near to 10 dolphins that swam around our boat and they are proved intelligent by cheering us with their presence. The kids enjoyed and it was a greater experience. It was a day tour and we returned back late evening.

After checking with various dhow cruise organizers, I finalized the half day cruise with Khourshem tours (Mr.Shemeer ) who gave a good price compared to the high rated tour provider. They sent us a pick up car to our hotel at 9:00 AM

The dhow itself was quite nice with about half the occupancy as it was a weekday. This made it more comfortable for all the tourists. The dhow helper Badal was also the guide and gave us all pamphlets and periodical information. The highlight of the trip was of course the Dolphins which we were lucky to encounter for about 10 minutes. A few of them sped along with the dhow and occasionally jumping out of the water.
A half day cruise is more than sufficient and I think a full day one can be a bit long. However, I say this as I did not take part in the swimming. For those who want a long underwater swim/snorkeling, a full day may be to their liking.
Fresh fruits, water, coffee and tea were available for the half day cruise.
we visiting the fjords and telegraph island ( not getting down).

I went on this trip from Dubai so we got picked up at 6.30am. It took a couple of hours to get there and getting through the border control was straightforward enough with our minibus driver taking care of everything for us. The cruise itself was nice although after a while the scenery is all a bit repetitive. The captain of the boat and the guide were friendly. The average age of the group on our boat was 60+ mainly all German speaking. The buffet lunch wasn't too bad and there were plenty of soft drinks and tea available. There were a couple of stops to swim but it might have been a better trip if there was the possibility to actually stop off on a beach somewhere and maybe even have lunch there. Toilet facilities on board were pretty basic too. It was quite a long day out in the end. Seeing the Dolphins was good.
