“Basic but good value”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

Stayed for 2 nights in a 2 bed apartment. price was very good compared to the only other choice, and the rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and fridge in room. Only 1 TV, and bathroom a bit shabby, but otherwise OK.

The hotel was quite noisy on the first night, and good clearly hear people talking out front and also in the corridor - not much in the way of sound proofing, and was a bit annoying after a while. Second night was better, so maybe we were unlucky.

Breakfast was OK and had enough to keep us and the kids happy.

Booked by email which worked fine, and payment by cash on arrival. They do accept UAE Dirhams as well as OMR.

We also booked a full day cruise through the hotel, which was very good and recommended. The Dhow was very comfortable and there was plenty of opportunity for snorkeling and swimming with the tropical fish - as well as relaxing after a good lunch on board.

Room Tip: Back of the hotel (away from the lobby and pool) may be quieter.

It can be seen as a decent budget hotel in Khasab - may be the only option apart from Golden Tulip which is highly priced. Good rooms and decent pool. You can book the room through phone. Breakfast is free. They also have daily dhow cruise trips which is really good - half day trip may be better as full day trip can be a bit boring. For lunch and dinner, you can find good restaurants nearby like Al Shamaly Grill - food & pricing was reasonable. The only minus with Khasab hotel is that they do not accept credit card.
Wish u a happy journey!

We stayed at Khasab Hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay there. In a place like Khasab, where you are out and about most of the time during day and only retreat back to your room at (early) night, we made a wise decision to cancel our reservation at the very expensive Golden Tulip and opted for this delightful hotel instead.

We were also lucky to be given a room near the reception on the ground floor (Room 102) where we were able to get the free wifi from our room instead of having to stay in the lobby for get internet connection. It can get very noisy in the mornings due to its close proximity to the reception desk, but that, to us, was a small price to pay for the convenience of having internet connection from the comfort of our room.

Our room was clean, large and spacious, with high ceiling. The shower room with toilet and sink was also large and airy. The furniture was basic and dated but there was enough chairs and table to make the room sufficient for our use and comfortable in every way. Clean towels were provided on a daily basis, so were complimentary bottles of mineral water. Toiletries were basic, so, bring your own if you are fussy about these. We had driven from Dubai and there were ample parking spaces available outside the hotel.

Breakfasts were included in the room rates and we find them to be sufficient to last us till late lunch. We had dinner at the restaurant twice and again, find the food to be ok – nothing to shout about. On one occasion, we went to the Lulu Hypermarket which was located near the city’s fort and bought some delicious cooked food and fresh fruits to take back to our room.

We joined the hotel’s full-day dhow tour and enjoyed it thoroughly. It was very well organised and the dhow we went on was beautifully decorated with carpet and cushions. Unlike other boats which we saw (which were packed with tourists), we were lucky to share the boat only with 4 others from the hotel, who left the boat after their half-day tour. We had the whole boat to ourselves for the remainder of the day, with the very kind boatman and his son/grandson. Soft drinks and packet juices are included in the tours but lunch is included only in the whole-day tour. We enjoyed the food very much (rice, vegetables in gravy cooked the Arabian-style, fried fish and fried chicken). We would recommend others to take the whole-day tour because the best scenery and swimming/snorkelling opportunities are at places which are not included in the half-day tour itinerary.

We find the room and tour rates at this hotel to be reasonable, given its location and the limited choices of accommodation in the area. We highly recommend this hotel to others visiting this beautiful region. We did so many adventurous outings on our own while we were there (check out our Trip Report on the Oman Forum – to be put up soon). We booked this hotel directly from the hotel online and did not have to place any deposit before arrival. We paid in Omani Rial cash, although they also accept UAE Dirham. As other guests have said previously – credit cards are not accepted.

Room Tip: Choose a room near the reception if you want to get wifi connection from the comfort of your room.

This is not a five star hotel, but a very well run middle class place. Very efficient and friendly service (they organized a day trip and onward transport for me). Very clean. At the outskirts of the city, but still in walking distance to the fort and the seaside (Khasab is tiny).

Highly recommended.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. It does take us a while to find the hotel in Khasab. It is quite a basic hotel. Breakfast is very simple. We did had our dinner in the restaurant. It was OK. The bath room was clean.

It is not so easy to make the booking with this hotel as they demand 50% deposit into their account (based in UAE). If you are not based in UAE, it is not an easy task. They do not accept credi card either.

Overpriced for what it is, as you have no much option in the region. Anyhow, it's fine for 1-2 nights, visiting the area and spending the minimum time at the hotel. Bfast is very basic, they dont accept CCs, pool area is ok, old hotel, don't expect too much!

This was a lovely, friendly, family-owned hotel, and would stay there again.
The major problem is that they do not accept credit cards as payment (??!!).
We would have loved to stay there longer than our three days, but eventually ran out of cash and had to return to Abu Dhabi...sadly :-(
If you decide to stay in Khasab, I'd recommend this hotel (in the town, so walking distance to eat out), but if you want a higher standard of accommodation, perhaps go to the Golden Tulip outside the town (and you'll have to eat in unless you hire a taxi into town).
