Al Nahda Resort & Spa

when we thought about a weekend stay outside muscat, one of my friend suggested al nahda resort. spa attracted me and my husband to reach resort. I have some suggestions right from the starting till the checkout. Staffs are friendly . Spa treatment, fantastic!!! Check in at main reception was smooth & clear. Restaurant staffs were hard working and didnt forget to keep their hospitality smile on their face. Only main and important thing , what we found is - its took a long time to answer call in room service and in reception. Over all , its a fantastic property. Staffs are friendly and to improve service in more professional way!!!

Overall the resort is very bad starting from the front desk very slow and rude in dealing. It take 10 Tries until they pick up phone. The room service is very bad. No one is helping you to take the bags into your car and into your room.
The room is old and AC not working well I had to clean the filter by my self. No pressure for water in toilet. Hope they get better in future. I don't recommend any body to book there for stay even for one night.

It is the worst holiday that money can buy for you. The hotel team is inept at providing a good service or any service for that matter. They checked us into the room after making us wait for an hour and half at the reception. The room's air conditioner's ( Both) were broken down (Outside temperature was 49 degrees Celsius) and it took us 4 hours, 7 calls and two visits to duty Manager to report our frustration and anger. On top of that the duty Manager suggested that we could share another room with another family as all rooms were full. I just can't comprehend which service industry trains you to respond like that. After a lot of heart burn, we were provided with an alternate room and what do we find....Termites in the Bathroom towels. According to hotel management house keeping could not check prior to check in as they were busy handling all the guests.

The service level is pathetic, the reception staff is rude and unqualified to handle customer queries, duty staff is cheeky and does not respond or blames management for being over worked, Food is average and overall it is best to avoid at all costs. A horrible, Horrible experience.

Stay only if the price is dirt cheap so that one can ignore the inefficiency of the place. The property is good and well landscaped but lacks any activity except spa and pool( that too doesn't store enough towels).

The inefficiency starts from the check in itself. It took 2 hours to get the rooms. No cart was available to ferry us to the rooms. The rooms are adequately maintained but AC in one of the rooms conked off.

Reception never takes the phone and the front office wears a worn and morose looks. Check out is also the same experience.Wait till eternity.

Buffet breakfast was crowded with only one workstation to handle live cooking. The chef wore a very hapless and insipid looks.

The place survives only because there are not enough places to go around in Oman.

Room Tip: Stay near the reception if walking is not your forte. Never visit the place during promotions as th...

I'm not sure really where to start . Check- in was fine and then we were taken to our hotel room by Raol, who was very lovely and helpful. The room was very spacious and the furniture old but adequate, though how this hotel has a 5 star rating I will never know. Unfortunately, it's all down-hill from here. As soon as we entered there was a horrible, fusty smell and the downstairs balcony was very small, incredibly dirty and was over-looking a wall and a pylon. I felt pretty miserable about the whole thing so I just went to sleep and hoped the next day would be better. Sadly the next day was terrible. At breakfast there was a 20 minute wait for the eggs and even though there was still 1 hour and a half to go until it finished, most things had run out. The room was filled with screaming children who ran around the tables. We then went to the pool as we thought we would like to spend a day relaxing there. Once again it was filled with children, and bizarrely enough there was house music playing loudly. It was 10 am and clearly a family place. This was certainly not a place to relax or enjoy. We went back to the room where we could still here the music pumping, even though we were a 5 - 10 minute walk away. We stayed in our room all day, listening to this awful music which just got louder and louder. It went on till after midnight. When we rang to complain nobody answered the phone at reception and we had to try several times, leaving the phone ringing for about 10 minutes at a time until someone eventually answered. When we did get through, we were told that it was a party and there was nothing that could be done about it. Who was at this party I have no idea because it was definitely no body who was staying in the hotel. Anyway I was extremely thankful when we were able to leave the next day, though felt sad that our relaxing weekend away had turned into feeling like a stay in prison. We ordered room service that night, which tasted ok so I suppose that's another positive. I've never written a review before but our stay here was so horrible that I felt compelled to write one.

The grounds of the resort are beautiful although spread out over a large area (this is not the place to stay if you have problems getting around). Our room was huge with a kitchenette attached but its only contents were a fridge and a kettle. The real problem with the Al Nahda is the service which was virtually non-existant. The food in the restaurant was good but we had to tell the staff we were there, get our own cuttlery and napkins and go and find someone to order a bottle of wine. There was a bar attached to the swimming pool but there was no one around, just a phone number to ring if you wanted anything. We were told a member of staff was en route but we gave up waiting. When we checked out, we told the receptionist about the poor service but she was decidedly uninterested.

The other disappointment was that according to the website, there are three restaurants (and two bars). Only one restaurant was open during our stay and as noted above, the pool bar wasn't staffed and the service in the other bar was also very poor. I was very thankful we were only staying two nights.

Room Tip: If you don't want to have a long walk at meal times, ask for a room close to the restaurant.
