The bungalow we stayed in was very nice, surrounded by palm trees. We had all we needed and enjoyed the restaurant both nights. During the day we explored the local idyllic islands and this is why you come. Picture postcard views, clear blue waters and amazing vistas.

Really enjoyed our 3 nights here, very sad to leave!
Lovely staff, good food, beautiful place, relaxed service.
When the cruise ship arrived they did block off the beach which kept the place peaceful.

During a trip to the Isle of Pines my friend and I decided to visit the Oure Hotel for a mid morning coffee. The gentleman at the reception was most pleasant and advised that despite us not staying at the hotel we would be welcome to order food and drinks at the restaurant. We were the only people in the restaurant and the staff member on duty ignored us until I eventually asked if we could please order a drink. She continued to set out ashtrays, mats on tables and cushions on chairs ignoring our request, only once she had finished did she begrudgingly bring us menus. Sadly Sabrina could not have been more rude to us. We were not served because we did not have local currency. It surprised us that a hotel boasting to be 4 stars would not change our Australian dollars or US dollars despite being able to advise what the exchange rates were! A very disappointing experience at a hotel that appeared from the surface to be a lovely place for a holiday.

Beautiful bungalows well spaced out in a tropical garden by a fantastic sandy beach. Some bungalows have a view of the beach and the bay. Each bungalow is spacious, well appointed, air conditioned, it also has a TV. There is a large covered terrace w/ 2 comfy chaises lounge. Staff is super nice and helpful. The restaurant is probably the best one on the island, the menu is quite extensive so if you stay for a week you do not have to repeat your choices. There is a pool, but we did not use it. The hotels loans out sea kayaks as well as snorkels, masks and palms. They also provide beach towels, chaise lounge etc... The beach has very fine sand and is very clean, the bay has great snorkeling. We felt like we were in paradise. The price is higher than most places on the island but it's definitely a cut (or two) above everything else. Wifi is available at the reception or the lunch restaurant.
We were glad the beach is private when a cruise ship dropped anchor and brought 2000 people to shore. Our beach remained quiet and pristine while the other side was over run w/ people.
We would definitely go back there.

We (husband, 2 teen children) recently stayed here for 3 nights. Our trip consisted of LaFoa for 2 nights, noumea for 3 nights and here for 3. We wish that we would have stayed all 8 nights here. Il de Pin is an amazing place. I think that Hotel Oure is the best hotel on the island as the bay that it is on is calm and the snorkeling is brilliant. The hotel offers free use of kayaks. It also has comfy lounge chairs on the beach and by the pool. Our family loved playing bocce and ping ping as well. It is nice to have the option of the swimming pool right off the beach. For those who have trouble leaving the smartPhone at home, there is free wifi in the bar area. If you have a few spare coins this is definetly the place to spend them

We had a great stay at Oure Hotel; was just what we needed.
The location is so relaxing and charming surrounded by a beautiful palms and trees
Rooms are spacious, comfortable, beautifully maintained and well stocked in a wonderful tropical garden. We had separate bath and shower as well as separate toilet.
The room had sliding doors out to a large porch with comfortable chairs.
Great attentive service, very kind and helpful staff except for the lady at the car rental that was not really friendly when we asked for more details (even if we spoke French)!
Fabulous food (loved the escargot). Being italian, once for lunch I decided to try the pasta with pesto sauce. The pasta was pretty good but there were not enough sauce, it was simply "white" pasta!
Very good was also the breakast buffet and we very much appreciated the possibilities to use the kayak to explore the bay.

The hotel is in one of the most stunning locations of anywhere I have stayed. Right on its own private beach overlooking the Baie de Kunemera, itself a secluded picture postcard stretch of water. Phenominal.

We initially checked into the cheapest room - a garden room" which is situated in the same building and another room. The room itself was ok but a little disappointing with its drab grey walls and dingy bathroom. Fortunately we were upgraded to a tropical bungalow because of the smell of drains that we noticed when we arrived. The bungalow was much nicer: larger, more bright, better layout and decor. As someone else mentioned a few details such as grouting round the bath had been left in a state of disrepair. The bathroom products also appear to have been downgraded. No L'Occitane soaps any more.

The facilities of the hotel were reasonable. The pool was small and (contrary to what another reviewer has said) unheated, at least when we were there. We did however appreciate the free use of canoes and snorkelling equipment.

Service at the hotel was at best erratic. Our requests were typically met with the New Caledonian laboured sigh and shrug as if they were the most unreasonable suggestions ever made. We got the general impression that the staff had better things to do than look after the guests. Their "boutique" was never open and the bar closed at around 8.30pm. The exception was the acting manager who was consistently superb throughout our stay.

The breakfast buffet was very underwhelming. Entirely self serve, the cooked food (sausages, fried potatoes, bacon) appeared largely unedible and did not appear to be refreshed during the service. The cold food was a disappointing selection of fruit, cereal, cheeses and meats. Any requests made to the staff were met with the sigh and shrug. Lunches were better but very expensive. Dinners were generally OK but extremely expensive. Unfortunately Ile des Pins has very few options so you are pretty much limited to the hotel restaurant.

One annoyance was that the hotel staff seemed very reluctant to give us details of any shops where we could buy food for lunches - sending us on a 9k round trip to Vao when there were a couple of places closer by. Presumably this was designed to encourage guest to keep their francs within the hotel. There are a very small couple of shops and "snacks" around but we only discovered them at the end of our stay.

As an option on Ile Des Pins the Oure is not a bad one given the very limited alternatives and provided your expectations run not much further than relaxing on a stunning beach on a lounger and the occasional snorkel. For the price however it should really be much more.
