“Quiet haven in the town center”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

This hotel has a German feeling and walking around the garden you can air your German with the retired people living here. This hotel is charming, with a beautiful enormous garden with amazing plants. The view from the breakfast room is grand. The rooms have no television but they are quite spacious and so is the bathroom en suite. The room where I stayed had a fridge and an electric kettle and coffee and tea available.
The people working here are nice and the room was very clean.
This hotel is within walking distance to the town center.
My room also had a wonderful view to the garden and a small window from where I could see the sea. I am definitely coming back to this hotel.

Stayed in this friendly and tranquil place for about 10 days back in May 2012 and have no complaints whatsoever.

Of all the hotels we've stayed in, this was the first where the manager actually spoke the words "Anything for my guests" and he did indeed go out of his way to make us feel welcome in Swakopmund, being a great help in organizing things for us to do while there, like guided tours, transport, etc.

Staying there was far from expensive, and we were even offered a discount.

We never felt unsafe either.

It was a strange feeling. I felt like being in a mixed mental institution/retirement home. But in all honestly I can't complain about the place for what it is. The pricing of the rooms was great and we all had a comfortable sized single room with shared showers. We were just there for one night so it didn't really matter. The breakfast was nice with a man at your service to prepare you eggs just the way you like it. There was also an assortment of bread, cheese, ham, cereal and the usual breakfast goodies. Nothing special about the place but nice for a quick pit stop.

The B&B is located in an old German hospital. This means that ceilings are high, corridors are width, doors are width, ... A special atmosphere. Very quiet. The receptionist was very very helpfull. Would go back while staying in Swakopmund.
