I found it a little disappointing, food is ok but I expected more for the prices you pay. Excellent setting though but definitely would not go there more than once.

The jetty must be one of my favorite places in the world to watch the sun set over the ocean. Out on the deck on top or in the restaurant at the bottom, watching the seals and dolphins play out the day, with the waves tumbling in, you feel enveloped by a sense of peace and tranquility. The view back over Swakopmund is magnificent. This is an evening outing must do. Tip: Remember to book the restaurant if you want to have a meal there.

Jetty 1905 in Swakopmund is a must-see! Restaurant with bar at the very end of the jetty, interesting pictures about the history of this jetty can be seen at The Tug restaurant. Prices are a bit steep, but hey, appreciate this setting! Not the average restaurant at the corner of the street! Best to make a reservation in advance to secure a table with a great view.

Not having booked, we were lucky to get a table in this popular restaurant. We encountered excellent food -a huge seafood platter more than enough for two with particularly delicious mussels and oysters, and excellent service. The setting is sublime - walking down a wooden jetty with the sea roaring beneath us and the sun sinking down into the sea set the tone for n amazing evening. Wine prices are reasonable -- R60 for a bottle of KWV rose - and the seafood was well priced considering the quantity - a whole crayfish, 10 prawns, 15 mussels, kingklip and kabeljou fillets, rice and great chips and a side salad for under R500. I will definitely book next time to be sure to have a meal at this excellent restaurant.

We've been to the Jetty before and was looking forward to introducing the rest of our group to this restaurant. I booked weeks in advance and was given the table right at the end with views to die for. Two of our party chose the Prawn and Chicken Curry and especially asked whether there are plenty of prawns and chicken meat in the curry. It was rather pricey, and they were brought beautiful, huge bowls of very tasty curry - with almost none of the prawns or meat (one had 2 small prawns and 1 piece of meat and the other one had 2 pieces of each). The manager at first offered them free ice cream to make up for it and only after a bit of a discussion decided not to charge for those two items. The other 4 mains were good, but over priced. I am not one to complain about the price of good food, but I think the Jetty is pushing it a bit. Would I recommend it? Not so sure.
