Reviewed July 6, 2012

Basic accommodation, but completely sufficient. Good, well equipped kitchen. The lady running the place was very helpful in arranging activities. Recommended.

We stayed 3 nights there.
We loved this so friendly and well managed place.

The staff did all the possible to arrange our activities also.
The rooms were nice, we spent the first one with the double shared bathroom (390N), then with private bathroom (440N).
The quality and the service are very good for the price.

No internet but shared kitchen with all the furniture and a large fridge.

The garden is very nice, there are people camping also, with a shared kitchen, barbecue place, that make a very nice exchange place

We arrived late afternoon in Swakopmund and had time to drive around looking for a room. We looked at most of the places in town and Desert Sky was head and shoulders above the rest. The receptionist while busy, went out of her way to show us the amenities and what was available. We ended up in a family room which was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. Crisp clean sheets on a very comfy bed added to the positive impression. Our room was in a four bedroom house and had bath and kitchen shared with the other rooms. Another bathroom was available in the camping area a few steps from the house. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. The bathroom had one of the best showers we found in three months across Africa. The house had a nice lounge area and dining room. The rest of the grounds were clean and attractive. Camping area was grass and there were also ensuite rooms. Location was a few blocks from shops, restaurants and bars. As a bonus, price was one of the best in town. I highly recommend the place for just about anyone.

We stayed here for three nights (camping in their garden) to recharge our batteries after the rough roads in Namibias south. The place has everything you can expect. The kitchen is well equipped and the toilets as well as the showers are in clean and good condition.
The do not have internet connection (available in town, pay and free but VERY slow). Everything you need to fill up the inventory is available in walking distance.
Be aware that Swakopmund can be very foggy during the wintertimes so other people we met told us that it's on the ocean :-)
It's a good spot to meet and talk to people. The staff is friendly and courteous.
We'll be there on our next trip to Namibia (good starting point for the Skeleton Coast).

The rooms were okay, not extremely clean, not exceptionally beautiful or quiet or large. Bed was good. Service wasn't. The ladies at the frontdesk were rather cranky, but hey, I don't go there to chat with the receptionists, so we thought it okay.
Huge garden, also for camping and cars with rooftop tents, which is a plus. Also a plus: two big communal kitchens and loads of toilets and showers for those camping.
