Nice break from the Medina.

Encourage everyone to view the sunset from here. Incredibly peaceful and calm.

Thank Sara H

Make sure to get here in good time to nab a seat on top of the walls and watch the sun sink while the north Atlantic swells crash in on the rocks beneath. Glorious - but bring a jacket if it's late in the season - the temperature drops dramatically as the light goes!

Be there for sunset, enjoy the tranquility and above all breath deap. Life is good, and as the sun gently falls from the sky, fading over the Atlantic Ocean, with Africa's warmth still holding on, it's hard not to smile, ah yes, life is good.

The Atlantic crashes against the rocks, little boys play on the ramparts, cats doze in the sun, elders discuss weighty matters. It's a great spot to begin your visit to Essaouira

You can't visit Essaouira and not walk along the ramparts, past the cannons, and view the crashing waves as they hit the rocks. Great views. Lovely little craft shops as well just underneath the walls, some traditional stalls but also some slightly more upmarket shops and crafts.
