“Best of all”

I fell in love with this small city. The feel of it is so easy going. There is much going on but it feels as if it is just everyday local activity. It is fairly easy to maneuver through the narrow streets. The cafe terraces are perfect for watching the day go by. Watching the fishing fleet come in was a highlight. I could live here,

“Old world with many interesting areas”

we visited in Aug 2013 and compared to Marrakesh this was lovely and relaxed and much more enjoyable as there was no pressure to buy and lots of wonderful things to discover.

“The Real Deal - Old City Over The Atlantic Ocean”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

Beautiful City, reminded me of Acre عكا the old Palestinian city, only stayed there for a day & Night but it was the most amazing time ever, the view, the air, the food, the music, Essaouira city its an experience, you have to go there if you are at morocco. its easy to go from Agadir or Marrakesh, just take the CTM buses, and spent a night there, Taxi from CTM to Marrakesh gate will take 10 to 20 Drhs

I've stayed in one of the old Dar's by the ocean, cross Marrakesh gate and keep walking straight forward till you face the walls, you will find a lot of Dar's " Hostel "

Horse Back riding by the shores, eating seafood by the port, the fruits & snails from the old streets,

be aware its very cold at night, so bring something to wear, and make sure to get a souvenir made from wood, they made beautiful stuff there.

at evening buy some sweets and go to any coffee shop get some Moroccan tea and enjoy the street genawa music

“Such a great little city!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

i loved Essaouria!the atmosphere is so chilled, its got that Caribbean atmosphere,From the little small cafes and restaurants ,the people are so friendly as compared to those i met in Mareakech. There is not a lot of development-the cities still look old and the tinted white buildings are still kept the same and thats what makes it so much more beautiful!Lovely shops by the medina and a great view of the ocean!

“better than Marrakech!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

Smaller and less pressured than Marrakech. I felt prices were a lot lower, and the bargaining was more relaxed. You do not feel at all intimidated here and can browse without being hassled.
