“Gorgeous food, great service, reasonable price!”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

We went to this restaurant a couple of days and ago and hope to return it was so good. I had the pastilla with chicken and almonds, beautiful but very filling for a starter, other half had soup, also very good. Mains were steak and a thai prawn dish, also both lovely with a bottle of wine to wash it down with all for around 50 quid. Not cheap cheap but that is what you pay if you want nice food that isn't just couscous and tagine! Highly recommend.

“Great value, fun place, good meal!”
Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

Owned and run by women, this refreshing little restaurant lives up to its reviews. Creative touches with the food make a nice break from the traditional food of the area, and the clever waitress, Essaadia, will fool you with her humor. We loved the cream of vegetable soup!

“A delightful meal”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

We absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing - full of flavour and fresh. I had the Thai prawn dish with rice which was lovely and my partner had a gorgeous vegetable soup to start, an aromatic kefta lamb tajine for main and crème caramel for desert. The 'amuse bouche' were nice too. The ambiance is warm and welcoming and the service was great too. We would definitely recommend eating here. We loved it so much we visited twice in 3 days!

“So impressed”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Just stumbled across this place and was so glad to have found it! A real gem, beautiful food, lovely atmosphere, and the best service I've found in Morroco. Our waitress had a fab sense of humour! If you go to Essaouira you MUST go there!

“A thoroughly enjoyable evening”
Reviewed March 20, 2013 via mobile

We ate at Le Cle de Voute whilst staying in Essaouira. It is typical of one of those places in Morocco that look nothing from the outside but are charming inside. The women who run it are really friendly and Essaadia in particular gave my husband a run for his money in the sense of humour stakes! We started with Coquille Saint Jacques which we split between us as a starter rather than a main. I followed with a really tasty and authentic lamb tagine and my husband had a huge portion of red mullet. We finished with a chocolate and an apple dessert both of which were very tasy. The local wine was thoroughly drinkable and slipped down easily. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived and buzzing by 8.30pm. Definitely one to book.

We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant - one not to miss in Essaouira.
