We have been there last week when visiting essaouria. Restaurant has very unique interior. Food was great, we had fish tajine which was exellent. The bread was divine, highly recommended.

“A first for me.....walking out!”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

Quite simply the most staggeringly uninspiring food I've ever eaten. My merquez tagine, was unseasoned, contained no spices whatsoever and the merquez were chipolata's. My girlfriends veggie tagine consisted of a mound of plain cous cous (again with no spices, seasoning, herbs) on which were lent an over cooked carrot and courgette which had been cut in half.
After a couple of pathetic mouthfuls we decided to pay and leave. To their credit the staff and chef looked genuinely confused and refused to let us pay.
I felt awful but tried to explain that it simply tasted of nothing. Such a great space, in the heart of the old medina absolutely ruined by useless food.

“Poor quality food”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

Quick but disinterested service, reasonable value, but the food was very disappointing. We had lamb tagine with couscous which had very little flavour and was overcooked. The yogurt desert was ok but was bought from a shop and served in the plastic tub. Well at least they took the top off! Avoid.

“Good value”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

This was the first restaurant we came across when visiting Essaouria. It proved to be good value and could recommend for a "light" lunch. Few others around which isn't always the best recommendation but we had a very nice meal.

“Lovely authentic feel”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

We chose this little place partly to shelter from the rain, but also because there were other Europeans eating there. The menu is varied and caters for veggies, those who would rather eat something from home, eg spag bol, or those who are feeling adventurous. The seating is good fun, although eating at low level tables can get a bit uncomfortable. The service we experienced was fine in terms of speed, and we were given mint tea on the house, which was a nice touch. The food was very good, and considering the price, amazing value. My husband had a squid tagine, which packed with squid, and I had a beautiful omelette with heaps of salad. Good music and ambience.
