We stayed here as part of a G adventures tour. The hotel seemed nice from the outside & lobby, but upon walking up to the second floor, we were overwhelmed by the smell of sewage. The smell was even stronger once we opened the door to our bathroom. It was so bad that each time I had to use the bathroom, I had to fight not to vomit. Our tour guide tried to change our room but the receptionist said that all rooms were booked so they couldn't switch our room. In addition to the stench, the shower head was broken so you had use one hand to hold the nozzle all the time.

In summary,
Negatives:
- sewage smell
- broken shower head
- need earplugs for street noise

Positives:
- otherwise clean room
- good location
- hot water

We stayed two nights at Hotel Souiri as part of our G Adventures tour package. This is located in a pedestrian area, so we hired a porter to bring our luggage to the hotel (for us lazy people). This is a fabulous location and a short walk to the harbor. We were in room 118 with two queen size beds. The shower and toilet were in separate rooms, with a sink in the bedroom portion of the room. My earplugs weren’t powerful enough to block out the call to prayer at 4 AM, but I managed to go back to sleep.

Breakfast at the hotel consisted of bread, butter, jam, croissant and fresh squeezed orange juice. I asked to borrow a knife to cut up a cantaloupe I picked up at the market. Our waitress was kind enough to have it cut up and served to us.

A photo shop was located next door to the hotel, and we had an enlargement printed of the group as a remembrance for our guide – which we all signed with personal messages. He loved it.

If you have a chance, get up early and go down to the harbor to catch all the morning fishermen activity. It was pretty quiet when I was there but still photo-worthy. The afternoon was wild and crazy especially with the swarming seagulls. It’s really nice just strolling through the streets by the hotel.

Loved Essaouira and would stay here again.

Was with my mum... we needed somewhere close to the medina and port. After lookin around for an hour for a good deal...we found this place...a guy receptionist was nice enough to give us a discount...we stayed for 200dh per night. We got a room eith one bed that has a view to the medina bazaars. It was nice! But no shower/toilet inside which was too bad!! The breakfast was decent. Overall its great for the price I recommend it! Dont be shy...ask them u wanna look around before u confirm stayin there....

I stayed at this hotel in 2010 and then again in Feb 2013. Same rating both times, that is, a nice stay for the price. The 2nd time I got a room on the front and wasn't bothered by any noise so slept well. Breakfast which is included is served in a nicely decorated room.
