We had a wonderful week, booked AI with Fleetway which was a great deal.
The complex is huge & very impressive even at 04.00hrs when we arrived!!
Our room was on the 4th floor over looking the pool, we were really pleased with this, don't see why the ocean rooms are classed as better.
The hotel is spotless, the staff are non stop at keeping it all tidy and clean, wherever you go, the grounds are beautiful.

Food was top notch at the Golf club house, without a doubt the best place we ate at, fabulous location hearing the waves crashing whilst sipping wine, a must try for all. The Oasis bar was also spot on for food and the guys working there was so warm and friendly, tip them and they will look after you.
Breakfast was also great with loved to sit outside each morning, sometimes it was hard to grab a waiter & get another coffee. They were always two local cats that I shared my breakfast with, they were will fed the waiter said the hotel feeds them too.
Evening meal had to be eaten the buffet Market Place, I got a little bored by the end of the holiday, it was more or less the same food, plus buffet food you tend to rush so missed that whole dinning out of an evening. That's why we ate at the other venues in the day as you could have your chilled 3 course meal then.

Drink prices are very high, so pleased we were AI. You need to be VERY careful as to what is included in the AI, we ordered a few things by mistake plus on occasion the hotel staff gave us the wrong wine.
Check out the night before to give you time to sort the errors out on your bill!

It was very quite when we went 14th -21st Sep, so very relaxing, had the pool almost to ourselves.
Spa was super, I had 3 treatments and husband had a 90minute massage, all of which were fantastic.
Gym was great and the young trainer gave me a personal training session FOC, it was amazing.
The casino was not my thing but was always busy.
All in all a really nice hotel & staff, however I can't explain what it is but it does lack a little for 5 star, I would say 4.5 star.

Room Tip: Pool view room was really nice

Firstly a big thank you to Fleetway Travel for organising our trip with seamless efficiency, they answered all our questions with professional enthusiasm

Spent a marvellous week at the Mazagan Beach Resort 21st - 28th September. Without exageration we are able to say that it was probably the friendliest large hotel we have ever stayed in, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff they were all keen to make our holiday as special as possible.
The 5* rating for a North African destination in our opinion is fully justified. The food was varied and well prepared the attention to details was amazing.
We will definetly be returning to this hotel.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF AT THE MAZAGAN

Room Tip: Not a ground floor room unless you like a visit from the frogs

I've just arrived at the mazagan beach resort and the service has been shocking so far. I had to bring my luggage to my room with nobody offering to take it for me or even showing me where my room is in this huge resort. It's taken me ages to find it. The phones in the rooms are very temperamental and it's virtually impossible to order room service or contact reception. I had to walk for 10 mins to reception to order food. Staff at reception were also rude. The key card for the room has failed multiple times in just a few hours.

We booked "all inclusive" with Fleetway Travel flying out around 23:00 on Thursday and returning 10:30 the following Thursday which meant that the stay at the hotel was for only 6 nights.
Even when arriving at the resort around 4:00 Friday morning you could not help but be struck by its impressiveness.
The staff were efficient, polite, helpful and charming; they really do want you to enjoy the experience. The room was excellent with all necessary requirements (apart from a hot drinks facility which you order from the bar). There are so many facilities and activities that there is no need to wander outside the resort. If you wish the hotel provides a free shuttle to El Jadida and to Casablanca (the latter is recommended).
Be careful as to what is "all inclusive" as non inclusive drinks and food are extremely expensive (single JD £23!!). Carefully check your bill receipt when signing for each item and keep it for reconciling with the inevitable final bill at the end of your stay. You will probably need it!!
It is really difficult to find any criticism of the Mazagan but so easy to praise it. We have already recommended it to friends and will without doubt return ourselves. It is a gem of a place if you want a week of relaxation.

Room Tip: We were allocated a room on the 4th floor, west side over looking the pool. It was peaceful and well...

Travel tip # 710: If you're nice to people, they'll be nice to you.

Fair enough.

We couldn't stress that more. Hotel staffs are one of the most unheralded people in the world. They're the ones who put the hotel on the map. Obviously the staffs here are well-treated well by the management and it shows by the way they serve the guests.

Been to many countries and All-Inclusive options - and we've always acknowledge these people – from the managers down to the gardeners.

Sadly though, some guests here would put on their diva/serve me/I'm paying for your salary attitude. We’ve seen a few and, boy are there a few here!

Sometimes, certain situations goes beyond the staff’s abilities. If they can’t give you what you want now, they’ll probably go that extra mile for you the next day.

We haven’t had any issues with the staffs at all. But by giving them a bit of commendation with a smile, you’ll be surprised how far words and your pearly whites can make them feel better about themselves.

Pay the staff folks some courtesy. Tip them. MAD20.00-40.00 should be enough. And they’ll remember you for it. And by doing so, we got A-level service all throughout our stay --- obviously! And as Madonna said, it’s still a material world.

Anyways, we booked via Fleetway Travel, as most guests have. Their package gets you a room with a Pool View, full board, six nights yet having paid for seven. You arrive at 3 am and leave at 7am.

But what can you do? We never fret and just enjoy the experience of staying there.

Checking in.
We didn't know how it happened, but the strangest word ever uttered came out of the receptionist mouth while checking in, "We’re full this week. So, from Pool View, we’re upgrading you to an Ocean View, if that’s ok?" he said.

Back in the queue, the guests we flew with looked in our direction and motioned to us the thumbs up sign!

Having an Ocean View, we’re enamoured with stunning sunset views before tea time. Champagne in your balcony in the late evenings to the sound of the ocean waves.

Restaurants.
Four star goes for foods. A bit repetitive but we've never always tried Moroccan and Lebanese before so it wasn’t a bit deal.

Desserts, however, are to die for!

The Market Place is the main dining hall, serving buffet.

The Beach Barbeque pretty much serves the same food in the hall but offers a different view plus a cool breeze from the ocean. The chef there makes the best lamb!

Chiringuito bar serves Spanish cuisine whilst a funky North African band sets up the mood for that festive viva Espana vibe. It’s a shame as they only serve up until 5pm only. Otherwise, my husband would probably strutted his Antonio Banderas moves on the dance floor till midnight. Virgin Mohito is their specialty.

Morjana serves seafood. Lovely ambiance – try the Moroccan wine.

Al Firma is their Lebanese/Moroccan al fresco. Local live music beats allures you that you would wanna get you off your seat and search for a dance partner!

Coke costs £3-4. A pint of beer costs £5-ish.

But here’s the thing…

…on the Main Lounge, you get a ‘buy one, get one free’ on their happy hour between 6-8pm. So whilst some folks here are complaining about the stiff prices of drink– hey, it ain’t really that costly at all. Do the math, that’s a pint in a 5 star hotel for £2.50-ish. Plus a live band. Or hang out in their cozy sofa on their lightning fast WIFI on our iPad for some BBC/SKY sports updates.

Location.
The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere. And as we’ve gathered from other guests’ adventures, it’s best to stay within the hotel’s premises rather than venturing out. El Jadida town is 15mins away via the hotel’s free shuttle service. But there ain’t much to see there, apart from the Portuguese fort. Don’t expect the souks to have that Marrakech feel as you might end up being disappointed. El Jadida is a fishing port, actually.

Word of advice.
Be sure to keep all your breakfast/lunch/dine receipts! If you don’t, you’re in for a hellavu time settling your bills on your last day at the front desk. Luckily, my wife kept them all and we’ve breezed through them, settling all the bill issues just under 10 minutes.

Settle them the night before you leave. Have all receipts ready. Otherwise, you’ll be lucky to be there, on your feet, at the least - 30 minutes, excluding the loooong queuing time!

Overall.
We've done everything that our budget would allow us – swim, golf, karting & horseback riding for our twin boys, dined in all the restaurants, haram, 4x4s, etc.

We had a fantastic stay. A bit pricey but hey, we’ll remember our fabulous time here.

Travelling is a very good investment. You won’t probably remember spending £500 on that Jimmy Choo shoes. But you would on your time in Mazagan.

Note.
Tripadvisor won’t probably accommodate here those 1200+ photos (really?!) that we’ve taken.

But if you care at all, so here’s a few (!) of them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/69745800@N03/sets/72157635518243818/

We stayed here in September after lots of background work. The only doubt I had came from reading negative reviews on TA. But my gut instinct was to ignore most of these. Bloody glad I did...we booked full board through Fleetway at a great price. You DO need to book full board as food is five star good at five star prices. Drinks outside of happy hour likewise. This is not a place to drink yourself silly...its somewhere to get drunk on the beach, facilties and friendliness. Best hotel gym and spa I have seen anywhere...best surf beach outside of Australia, authentic, freshly cooked food, superb room, amazing grounds and architecture, comfy sun lounges, great pool, tennis, golf...and despite its size this hotel has a soul created by its staff and natural beauty. Dont go to El Jadida if you want clean...do go if you like perspective and different. Do have a spa treatment and use the hamamm, WOW. Do take time to chat with the staff and have the pizza guy make you a bespoke pizza...and please do your homework unlike some people who dont and then blame the hotel for things that they should have known beforehand...oh and believe maybe 5 percent of the negative reviews..the rest are pathetic and trivial...Enjoy.

Fantastic holiday 1st week in September. The place is a destination resort, remote but stunning, we had 2 huge interconnecting rooms my kids aged 17 and 11 shared a room but still had a double bed each, desk, chair, balcony. We had a king size bed and great room. We used the gym which has new equipment and you run watching the rollers coming over the Atlantic, I had a massage in the SPA, my daughter and partner had pedicures and manicures, all good value and great service. We used the pool which is awesome, went body boarding which was just the best fun we all had as a family, played archery used the driving range, all great. I even spent a few hours in the on site casino which I enjoyed.

The staff are help full but not always the quickest in the world, learn to chill out, your drinks do arrive. Alcohol and water are expensive, the wine vile, go inclusive or just do not drink much. This is an Arab country so lots of muslim customs, this is not a place for drinking and topless sunbathing but is a great family resort. Food was truly excellent in the main buffets.

The only negative we had was the beach bar service is beyond awful, it can take 30 mins to get a drink even though the place is not busy, which is a shame as it is a great location.

Room Tip: Keep off the ground floor as lots of frogs if on ocean side. Do not have partial ocean view as that...
