Upon arriving at Riad Soleil d'Orient, we were welcomed by Oliver who was very charming. The riad was delightful with a beautiful courtyard and one of the best meals served to us in all of Morocco.
Our room was beautifully appointed and very clean and comfortable.
A lovely riad I would highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here in May 2013, and had a delightful time. Our room was good size, on the ground floor opening onto the courtyard, with a fountain and many large green plants and palm trees, making it look very tropical. The room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable -- the only possible complaint being that the shower water was warm but not terribly hot -- a minor nit to be sure. The meal we had in the evening was amazing -- with several courses being the best we had while in Morocco. Highly recommended.

We had decided we might need a break from hectic cities half-way through our trip around Morocco, and chose El Jadida, a old Portuguese port and fort on the coast about an hour south of Casablanca. We stayed at the Riad Soleil D'Orient, which proved to be an excellent choice. It is a real Riad with a delightful courtyard, complete with fountain and a wonderful variety of plants and trees, and built in exotic Arabic style. The room was similarly architecturally exquisite, and furnished extremely comfortably. In keeping with our desire to have a relaxing stay, we had dinners at the riad - they were absolutely delicious - served either in the stunning dining room or on the terrace depending on the temperature.
Moreover the hosts made a real effort to make our stay as relaxing as possible. They emailed us a day before arrival with information we might need, and an offer to help us find the riad when we arrived in town. Anyone who has been to Morocco knows it is almost impossible to find an address in a medina without a guide, and this offer of a guide was a godsend. This sort of assistance was offered several times by the hosts during our stay.
The roof-top terrace was great - both sun couches, and shaded seating.
All this was topped off by conveniences such as free fast wi-fi and TV.

A beautiful riad well located near the Portuguese Gate. The surrounding area is a bit scruffy, but arrival in the Soleil d'Orient reveals a beautiful set of rooms and facilities surrounding a charming courtyard with citrus and other trees. The welcome and hosting of Olivier and his team were first class and the food (all meals) quite outstanding. We had booked for a few days, and after looking around the old port, there is not a lot else to see in El Jadida so we took the opportunity to relax in the riad most of the time and took all our meals there. I would strongly recommend the Soleil d'Orient.

Room Tip: We had the Safran room on the ground floor looking over the courtyard.

It was a lovely Riad. Good position. Oliver was most helpful. The food was devine. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was the Terrace at the top. Only problem was the curtains were not block out so very light from dawn.

Room Tip: If you can afford a little more choose a room on the second level

We stayed at this Riad for two nights before flying out of Casablanca. The location of the Riad is excellent, quite close to the Old Town although directly below a mosque so it can be quite noisy at prayer time. We ate at the Riad both nights and the food was lovely - we have never seen such big bowls of cous cous before! The room was also nice but we had trouble with the bed which creaked loudly every time you moved in the night. Oliver was very nice and tried to be very helpful but we did struggle with asking questions at his English is limited. Also the Riad doesn't take card so need to make sure you have lots of cash with you when it's time to check out.

We spent a night here before flying from Casablanca the next day. Oliver welcomed us warmly, offering mint tea and cake. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and spacious . My children stayed in the room next door and it felt very safe. I recommend having the evening meal , the food is home cooked, delicious and served in a lovely dining room. The breakfast is also excellent. The location is very close to the market so its easy to take a stroll and have a browse. The roof terrace is nice and the girls liked the baby tortoises! The riad is a peaceful retreat from the hussle and bussle outside - I recommend it.
