It was exactly what we were looking for on our non-typical honeymoon trip. We were not looking for fancy candlelight dinners (although you can have them) but for a very nice location from where we could explore the island and enjoy the beach as well. This is also one of the reasons why we chose The Sands Resort, as it seems to be the only reasonable choice if you are looking for a Bed&Breakfast solution.
The breakfast is rich and very good, and also the two restaurants (tried "only" Spices and Pink Peppercorn) are a good choice, even though a little bit on the pricier side for the quality, which was good nonetheless. Service is excellent, from the room cleaning to the waiters to the concierge...
The premises are great, nothing too fancy, which we didn't want at all.
The only downside is that you'll have to walk for about 10 minutes to the bus station and the walk to Wolmar is about 30-40 minutes with a crisp stride. For the occasional trip the bus is ok, but renting a car is definitely a must if you want to get around more, as the taxis are very expensive.
Great place and definitely our choice of where to stay the next time we will travel to Mauritius!More
