This hotel cannot be faulted in terms of the service food and cleanliness. We stayed on the full board program which was great but you get absolutely ripped on the drinks. There is a store down the road to walk to for drinks and you are forced to do that cause after 2 days of the astronomical prices you get tired of getting ripped off plus I felt like this hotel was pricey to begin with. This is a vacation only for people that want to relax. If you are looking for a little more liveliness even if it's not partying this is not the place it's quieter but it is gorgeous.
This hotel is very, very well maintained grounds wise - pool was freezing but it was just the time of year no fault of hotel. Weather on West coast in July is mostly cloudy and rainy...just added that cause I was stuck for what side to stay. Another place you get ripped is the wifi and the connection isn't even that good, c'mon Hilton u gotta fix that and hold off on the cost. I will always remember this vacation not only cause of the price but also because it was total class.

Superb Hotel - staff, food, ambience all perfect. Pool a bit shabby but being refurbished so should be perfect. Would recommend hotel wholeheartedly to everyone. Excellent mechanism of paying 1 large tip, split between all of the staff, at the end of the stay rather than tipping throughout. Individual tipping discouraged so made this process much more comfortable.

The Staff are very friendly. Service & Guest Rooms are exceptionally great. Just Awesome Experience. A Must. Bar area very good. Visiting guests are allowed. Food be it Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Room service are all Finger Licking Good. The Spa has all the amenities. Sauna, Steam, Hamam, Japanese Pool, & All sorts of body relaxation Massages. Hilton Hotel experience in general are great but this one here in Mauritius is just awesome.

The hotel is an excellent place for sunset indulgence. The jetty on the hotel beach definitely offers extra interest and we love it where I took quite a few beautiful pictures for my wife.

The hotel landscape is good (I think it is even better than official photos to some extent) but their service impresses me even more. Most of their staff always carry smiley and you could have joyful mood all the day. I would express my special thanks to the two clinicians (cannot name them but they were on duty on 2&3 Aug) who helped me heal the scrathes on my heel and alleviated the pain.

The room is clean and well maintained. We found it very cozy and feel the ease at home.

It is winter in Mauritius and you could not expect various seafood everyday, but they managed to offer more choices for tourists from different continents. I would personally recommend their Thai restaurant (Ginger Thai) where we enjoyed tasteful food that was out of our expectations. Their buffet was also delightful which I think is a good happy start every morning. The only pity is that the bacon was a bit over cooked which tastes hard and dried.

We have not tried the hotel's water sports service (some are free and others are paid) while my friends tried and enjoyed the activities offered by the hotel that included seeing the dolphins, snorkeling and fishing.

In all, we think the hotel is worth the value. It is definitely a part of the unforgettable experience of our stay in lovely Mauritius!

Room Tip: Rooms on second-floor and third-floor command better views.

We got married at the Hilton Hotel in Mauritius. There where no problems at al. All the staff and everyone to do with Hilton Hotel where friendly and went out of there way to make you feel welcomed. The room we had was spacious the Bridal Sweet was to die for. From the time we stepped of the plane until the time we left everything went smoothly. I would love to thank the staff and everyone one involved in our wedding.

We've just returned from a three-week holiday to Mauritius, and stayed 11 nights on a B&B basis at the Hilton resort. Expectations were high, given their website, and we weren't disappointed.

What set this hotel apart was the excellent service. From the welcome at reception when we checked in staff went out of their way to be helpful, and always polite and friendly without being over-bearing - from maintenance staff to waiters and pool attendants.

This Hilton has managed to successfully instil an ethos amongst all employees worthy of a five star resort, which includes the attention to detail you would expect. For just one example, within the first couple of nights of our stay I asked a waiter what vegetarian options were available in the buffet dinner. The chef was summonsed, who went through in detail what would be on offer that evening. He also said he would prepare anything we liked in addition to the buffet. A week later as we entered the restaurant the chef, remembering my name and the day we had spoken, asked if we were enjoying the food and reminded us to let him know if there were additional vegetarian dishes we would like. The food really was excellent.

From the website we knew what to expect in terms of facilities. Most water sports were free - we went out in the glass-bottomed boat and the dolphin-watching trip, and I regularly went in the kayaks with my son which were great fun.

There really are only a few minor points to note. We hired bikes for a couple of hours to cycle into Flic en Flac, and these weren't cheap (unlike the bikes available at the Heritage Le Telfair, which were free). Also, the Wi-Fi charges are extortionate - we ended up with a bill of £100 for a week's (intermittent) access to a slow network. Some of the technical problems may have been outside of the hotel's control, but they really shouldn't be charging for something plenty of other hotels offer free in rooms.

In my experience some of the negative comments about this hotel from other contributors are extremely unfair. We didn't come across any mould or 'general signs of wear'. Perhaps anyone who doesn't want to encounter children should stay at alternative resorts which actively discourage families with young children. In any case most of the guests we came across were couples without children. Also, the 'loud' music referred to actually isn't loud at all (live entertainment for everyone to enjoy) and finishes each evening at 10.30 - hardly late.
