“Honey moon in Mauritius”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

We decided to book in the Aanari Hotel for the first 2 nights, after our arrival to Mauritius, and later to move to another hotels of the island as we traveled the country. But because of the good service and after dealing a good price for a longer stay, we decided to accommodate for 2 weeks. I want ro recall that August is considered as part of the low season in Mauritius, so the hotel was not so crowded, all the services were fully available (spa, swimming pool,...) and we could enjoy a relaxed ambient.
The city (Flic-en-Flac) is well located as the starting point for many excursions across the island.
If you have any doubt, need, inquiry,...whatever, don't hesitate to ask to the guys in the reception. They will try to do their best to help you, as well as the rest of the staff of the hotel.
My wife and me enjoyed relaxing and lovely moments in the garden-restaurant of the hotel; we appreciate the effort of all the staff to make us feel like at home.
Avi, Hans, Gael, Johan, Catherine, Pri, Isadora, Olland,,...(sorry I can't remember all of you) thank you very much for this unforgettable stay in Mauritius!
We appreciate it so much.
Hope to see you again some day! ;D

Hotel located at Central Flic en Flac, provides free breakfast & dinner - already a winner. Rooms are clean, staff are helpful, there's nothing more you can ask for. Dinner is a bit late though, served at 7.30pm - but it's included in your stay, so why not!

our second stay in this hotel when we went back as a family on holiday to mauritius for 2 week in july 2013. hotel very clean and felt safe. Teenagers happy to walk around flic en flac and shops nearly.much cheaper than larger hotels but with all amenities. cross the road and you are on the beach with safe swimming in the lagoon - beach towels and deck chairs are provided by getting a ticket at reception. Walks along the beach towards the south in the morning was pleasant and in the shade then and watch the sun disappear in 2 mins in the evenings. Food was freshly prepared and varied menus. We ate at the hotel every evening and enjoyed the buffets. Rooms are good size and clean. Daily housekeeping meant rooms always clean and fresh. Beds large and very comfortable. Plenty hot water available but may take a few minutes to come heated by solar panels. Wifi free in rooms and reception area and fast enough for ipads and iphones etc without any problem. Staff at this hotel were exceptionally helpful and nice. In evenings, there was nice atmosphere and live music provided by Rolland on the guitar some evenings. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: rooms with balcony very pleasant for drinks in evenings.

The room was clean, good smelling, cosy, spacious, with adequate furnitures and equipment. On the other hand, the bathroom was too small. A bidet is definitely missing in there! The only inconvenient issue with the room was the sound of a water pump which is quite distubing at night. Moreover, the room was not cleaned on Sunday, the check out day.
The restaurant offers a large variety of food but we did not like the taste of them. The breakfast offers a limited choice. However, the pastries are delicious.
The personnel are always smiling, very dedicated and helpful, especially Avi, Hans, Diana and Florence(not sure about the name though). Hans even helped in allowing us to have a sports channel to watch...and another guy prepared a kettle of herbal infusion when my husband suffered a headache....Avi was the most friendly and helpful though.....
Two suggestions regarding breakfast is to improve the menu card....instead of a sheet of paper which was taken out of the pocket and provide some more tissue papers as same was unavailable upon request on Sunday morning.
The spa was good and relaxing.....Diana made us feel very comfortable with soothing words and a dazzling smile.......
The hotel infrastructure was good, well equipped and well maintained....
Nevertheless, we did enjoyed our short stay at Aanari.

Pros:
Good location
Staff: Helped us to book a new dolphin swim when one we had booked was canceled. Made breakfast at 6:30 just for us when we had an early meeting. All free of charge.
Club-room was big enough.

Cons:
Could not get hot water from shower some days
Bit noisy at weekend (music from nearby disco, sounds from moving furniture around)

Room Tip: At 1st floor we could heard a bit too well the sound of chairs being moved around in the restaurant...

Aanari is one of the best hotels i have ever been to.It's hospitality, the room ,the food, the personnel, the service as a whole is excellent! Aanari gave me such a nice time...Especially the man playing the guitar in the restaurant. Aanari's staff is so pleasant, especially Avi.
I would say thank you Aanari for your service and warm welcome and a very special thanks to the entire team.

At breakfast service, there was often no conflacs, milk, baugette no excuse is good enough, all above should be there.Service was not good enough. We booked half board,we informed hotel we are strict vegetarian despite this food provided was lacking in variety and quality. They provided same food everyday!
TV was breaking down and it was reported to reception they tried to repair 3times without any success and told me there is nothing they can do! they gave another room after 6days!
There were cockroaches in fruit basket.
Although staff were helpful,kind.

Room Tip: Rooms with seaview and balcony.
