“Good hotel with nice food and friendly staff”
Reviewed November 4, 2011

This hotel was perfect for us because we wanted a very quiet place for the first leg of our honeymoon. Although Mauritius itself is pretty quite, this hotel was more towards tranquil (although I believe inadvertently). The staff was very friendly and always did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. In fact, since my wife is a vegetarian and we are from India, we normally have trouble getting good vegetarian food outside our country. But not in this hotel, the cook got to know us in a day or two and specially made Aloo Parathas and Poori Subzi and other indian delicacies for us. This was the best treatment we got in any of our trips.
The entertainment in the hotel was also decent, there was a live Belly Dance performance one night during our stay of 5 days, and it was pretty good. Around the hotel there isn't much to do though, other than scuba diving.
The food served in the hotel was good and they had a lot of variety in their buffet dinner and breakfast. We had chosen to eat lunch outside, and were happy to find a few restaurants around the hotel that served good food.

The rooms were very well maintained and decorated and had a high class, modern and warm feel. The pool was also nice, and had a small bar right in its center. The dining area was open and large and had a very fresh feel to it during breakfast as well as dinner time. In fact, during breakfast, we were greeted by quite a few birds sitting on our chairs and sometimes even trying to steal a bite from our plates.

This hotel is highly recommended for couples and family trips alike.

just got back from a 2 week holiday at the pearle beach hotel. what an amazing holiday. the staff food ,room everything about it was great. the meal at lunchtime was sometimes buffet style but if you didnt like what was on it you could choose something of the menu the club sandwiches were great. we went on the catamaran trip with the boathouse but we thought it wasnt great value for money but if you want to see dolphins and sometimes whales book the 7.ooam trip and you see plenty of dolphins. We booked some trips with i tour guide (NOT THE REP AS THEY WERE DOUBLE THE PRICE) we went to crocodile park and he took us to some really good places and drove back along the coast road which was brilliant and we also went to ils aux cerf by speed boat and onto a secluded island for a barbecue and we also went to see a waterfall which we went right upto a brilliant day out not to be missed we also went to the horse racing which was another good day out.if you want good value for money hotel go to the pearle beach mauritius is an amazing place yes you can get better hotels but at a price but its the same sea, same sun and same beach as all the other hotels. A must go and do is the domainne anna restaurant it was absolutaly amazing restaurant .The one big let down of the whole holiday was we went with airfrance we got seats on the upstairs both ways which was good as tthere was extra legroom but the meals were awful on the way home i didnt eat a thing we will go by emirates next time. anyone got any questions please email me i will be happy to reply.

Room Tip: try and get room 223 as it is a corner room and it has two great views

We booked and paid in full in March to stay for 2 weeks in September/October. The flights with Emirates were great - highly recommended, but when we arrived at the hotel we were told they had no rooms available. We were told we would be placed in a hotel down the road and would have to get a taxi back for our meals. We were then told to go to the bar and wait for a taxi to transport us. At that point we decided we were not going anywhere as we understood that the hotel did in fact have a number of rooms behind the main hotel. This was eventually confirmed and we were given a key and shown the room! The following day we were moved to the ground floor, sea view room we had initially booked.

Breakfast was buffet style and there was plenty of choice but lunch was a different matter. It seems that whatever you order from the menu they haven't got - no rolls or bread for the many sandwiches offered! What they did have often took more than an hour to arrive and then it was often not what you had ordered! Dinner was buffet style and probably the best meal of the day.

The room was a little tired but it was clean and comfortable. The shower was excellent.

There were high quality sun loungers and umbrellas round the pool but on the beach the few umbrellas that were there were broken and the sun loungers were not very comfortable. There were often no beach towels available. Although the sea is warm and there are boat and snorkel trips available there s very little life in the sea. We assume it had all been eaten!

We booked 2 excursions with the Mercury Rep; the south island tour and the north island tour. The south was fantastic, an absolutely perfect day out with lots to see and do. However, the north island tour was disappointing, partly because the rep spoke in French to the only other couple all day - he obviously was unaware that we could actually understand him and partly because we didn't spend long at the places we were really interested in and too long at what were obviously his favourite places. He also ate most of the buffet at the lunch we paid for! We made our own way to Cassela, the local wild life park and have a great day out - well worth it.

The bar is very small - not really adequate for the amount of guests and there are very few seats available.

All in all for what we paid we were very disappointed with The Pearle Beach and Mauritius.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have a key to the patio doors - very convenient for the beach and meal times, how...

I thought that I should write a review on the pearle beach after reading so many reviews.
Firstly the hotel was lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Once they knew who you were they got used to the types of food and drinks that we were having and often brought them to us without asking. We went on a few local trips and used the boat house for sea trips and visits to the island (much cheaper than the reps prices). We also went on a trip to the horse racing, what an experience! We went with one of the barmen of the hotel and his family, what a great day and a picturesque location! Definitely worth it if you get the chance! also the walk with the Lion cubs in Casela park is a must, our highlight of the entire trip.
The beach was lovely, we often walked along to both the left and right of the hotel, it was a lovely walk but my advice would be to take some water shoes as some of the sea bed is quite rocky, clear and warm but uneven in places.
The food was good, Lunch time buffet wasn't always the best but make sure you ask for the menu, the food on it is much nicer, especially the club sandwich! It is a small hotel so you get to know most of the guests whilst your there. We met up with some lovely people from the UK and have remained in touch.
I would say if you are looking for a low key hotel with friendly people and a picturesque location, this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Higher rooms are best

We spent 7 memorable nights with our best friends at the hotel.....this was our first trip to Mauritius and the friendly and efficient service we got made our holiday! Thank you Saga for everything!! You were always friendly and there to help. We stayed on the first floor overlooking the pool and the beautiful beach. A stately, well appointed room that exceeded all of our expectatations. We also hired a car so we could do the whole tourist thing and the only schlepp perhaps was the traffic in Quatre Bornes. The location is nevertheless amazing, a stones throw away from the most beautiful beach and even more amazing sunsets. We were just amazed about everything and will be back in a few years time!

We have bought the last minute stay at Pearl Beach Resort for 15 days (half board), flight from Frankfurt.
For only 1190 Eur it was excellent choice...

At the beginning of our stay there were only few guests in the hotel and the service was really like in 5star hotel.. All staff was extremely kind and serving excellently. The dinners were served a-la-carte. Only later when the hotel became full the dinner was served as buffet, but it was OK as well.. (Try smoked marlin.. ;-))

There are good possibilities for active holidays: we have tried free snorkeling trips, kayak, glass bottom boat, but the hotel offers also for free water skiing, windsurfing and small yachts. There is great snorkeling place just around 600m from the hotel - you can swim there directly... In the evening we use to play beach volleyball with other guests.. Running on the 7-8km beach around the sunset is unforgettable..
Flic-en-Flac beach is definitely the most beautiful beach (also with beaches around Le Morne) in Mauritius. We have visited them all around the island, but south west is the most beautiful part of the island.
Do not forget water shoes as many small coral pieces are on the beach, even it is cleaned every day...
Do not waste money with many trips on the island. Max 3 days car rental would be enough.. Because of have traffic driving is quite exhausting.. Cheap local buses are also good option.. Visit the local market in Quatre Bornes (on Thursdays and Sundays), where you can buy all those pearls and coral bracelets 2-3 times cheaper than from the local dealers selling on the beach.. (be careful)..
There is small supermarket near the hotel, but better prices and more choice are in Spar in the village center (nice 20 min walk on the beach).
Some guests paid much-more money for shorter 10 days all-inclusive stay.. Half board is fully enough, although the price of the drinks in the hotel is not so low...

And of course do not ever forget incredible sunsets seeing just from your hotel window and balcony...
This hotel is not 100% perfect, but it has very nice atmosphere, location directly on the beach is excellent and we fully recommend it for the visitors..

We stayed at Pearle Beach in June 2011 (Room 315). Before picking the hotel we read all the reviews on Trip Advisor, the good the bad and the ugly, and I have to say that I was very shocked when we arrived a the resort........ It was BETTER than some of the best reviews. This is a perfect little gem of a resort and we will go back there any day!!
Yes, this is a 3 star resort, but, you never feel like you are being treated any different to guests at the bigger 5 star places.
With the all inclusive (which is the only way to go) we never went hungry or thirsty. One review I read said that the drinks were watered down, well, then my friend, you must be an alcoholic cause ours certainly were NOT..... We found that there was plenty of variety available for cocktails, drinks, and food. Never once did I feel like I was missing out on anything!
Regarding the food, every night the buffet dinner had a different theme (Chinese, Indian, Mauritius, BBQ, Italian) and every-night we both loved everything.... we ate until we were stuffed.
The staff, they were extremely friendly and helpful .The bar (Prekash) and entertainment staff had me giggling most evenings, and ensured that the Ti Punch’s (thanks Hensley) kept coming, and all the waitresses (Dashni and Juliette especially) all helped in making us feel like VIP guests!!
The room (315): was perfect, massive king size bed (actually think it might have been bigger than a king size), always clean and cool. Bathroom was lovely, massive shower and being able to look out to the ocean while in the shower was really cool, and loved the his & hers sinks!
All in all, I think that this resort is excellent value for money and a wonderful place to stay!
