We had a wonderfull stay at Lux!, The staff is extremely efficient, friendly and educated about their hotel and island.
The food in all the restuarants are world class! Great variety

One problem was the aircon in the room that did not work all that well.

Over all it Has been the best Hotel experience I have ever had!

We feel compelled to write this review since we got back but we just never found the time, apologies. My husband and I with our 15 month old son stayed in a Lux belle mare for 21 nights through Christmas 2012. We had the most amazing time, the hotel was absolutely fabulous and lived up to every expectation, the team were very professional and friendly, only too pleased to help, nothing was too much trouble including bringing room service to our son every night. Members of the team who were particularly helpful and attentive were Jessica in guests relations, Fabrice at the coffee bar (the coffee was great), Chica and her team at the pool bar/restaurant and Amit in the evening buffet who looked after us extremely well.
The setting of the hotel was fantastic and the swimming pool very child friendly. The water sport center on the beach has numerous choices of activities and the guys were very helpful.
Food was great in all restaurants, including the buffet which offered a veritable feast every evening. Not to forget the spa center with variety of treatments and massages. We would definitely go back and recommend to everyone.

We stayed for 7 nights and had an amazing time, there was plenty of imaginative activities for the children as well as an excellent kids club. The kids were happy we were happy. All in stylish and luxurious surroundings. Food was excellent and plenty to choose from every night. We were there during halloween and the hotel made a great effort to celebrate the occasion we felt thoroughly happy with our stay, however the diving was a bit dissappointing due to poor visability and strong currents.

Lux belle mare was a perfect week getaway from the hectic city life. We were planning since a long time for mauritius and found another couple who were absolute looking forward to the same place. We had a very warm welcome and the rooms are quite good. The hotel itself provides lots of activities including all the water sports that we were falling short of time to visit other places in mauritius. We had visited in the first week of august, its considered winter and the water is cooler than any other season. Though we didnt feel cold throughout the day but the temperature does drop in the evening so definitely pack warm clothes!

Room Tip: Choose the one facing the pools and ground floor one for sure

My wife and I have just got back from a really good 10 days at the Lux Belle Mare.

The only drawback was that the food was quite full of peppers, which is how they make their dishes in Mauritius but my wife has an allergy to peppers. The staff were aware but there was little effort to overcome this until we complained on day 6 at which time they really pulled out all of the stops for us.

The staff were great and could not do too much for you.

The location and beach were terrific.

Only drawback we had were that there were initially a few too many young children for our liking but that said the pool was ideal for young people.

Overall a very good stay - thanks.

During school holidays, we do get families and the resort does undergo a little change in its ambience but we do make an endeavor to provide the very best for our guests who are looking to enjoy a quiet relaxed holiday. Stayed here for 10 nights all inclusive.
Nice hotel, good sized room. well equipped & clean. Staff very helpful, to the point of almost being intrusive. Children were also a problem – there were far too many of them especially the first week.
The real downside for us was the food. There was nothing wrong with it, but it is very repetitive and really not a five star experience. After 6 nights we were really fed up. On arrival we were asked about diets/allergies and we responded with some allergy information to certain food type. A great deal was made out of this on the first evening and we had to have a chef follow us around the buffet to tell us what we could eat which was really awful. Every evening there was salad to start, and every evening my wife had no starter due to the food allergy despite the hotel being fully aware of this.
On day 6 we had a problem at breakfast with the egg chef lady which resulted in a complaint to restaurant staff. We had hired a car for three days and had ordered picnic for all three days. The first day it was all ready and waiting (although it was very disappointing – a dry baguette with ham or ham& salad & bit of fruit & a can of pop – not really a 5 star experience!) When we went to collect the picnic on the second morning it was not there. Staff started to panic and then told us it had gone in the wrong car. We waited for them to sort the problem and in the end got fed up. We decided to leave without it (it wasn’t worth bothering about anyway!). We set off for our days exploring. Around 30 mins later a car coming towards us started flashing headlights so we slowed down thinking there was a problem on the road – No, it was hotel staff! They jumped out and removed our picnic from their boot and transferred it to our car. We were speechless! We had been followed and chased by hotel staff!! It was just like a Benny Hill saga!
That evening back at the hotel, dinner was the same again. We had really had enough that day and so started to complain. In the end this resulted is us sitting down with the F & B Manager (although you would never know it as all staff wear the same white trousers and tops with just their first name embroidered on it – so its not possible to define the hiarachy – WHY?) He was a very understanding and after our chat things certainly did improve. We are really grateful for that.
The other restaurants have the same a la carte menus every day.
One of the best things about this hotel is their coffee. They roast and grind their own blend. The coffee bar is great (although the stools at the bar really need to be more comfortable) and we had great service here.
Pool area is lovely, although not many beds and it was too over run with kids, so we headed to the beach. There are roped off areas for swimming in the very shallow lagoon, but outside the ropes it can be crazy with speed boats and water sports. We love to snorkel, so this was rather disappointing. Just on the edge of the ropes we did find a few fish though. The best snorkelling we found was a Blue Bay, but not a patch on the Maldives.
Overall we did have a nice time, staff tried hard, but the food really let the holiday down.

Excellent service from when we checked in and until we left the hotel. Kids were given special attention as to their specific needs. We very much enjoyed our stay and we were made to feel special.
Rooms were very clean and food was just perfect - quality food for every taste. We also had a great relaxing moment with a spa treatment.

Without doubt, we will go again and we highly recommend any family to spend some holidays there.
