“so-so hotel in an expensive area”

Armonk, NY / Greenwich, CT is a generally expensive area, and La Quinta's property offers a reasonably priced alternative to the budget traveler. The hotel was a bit worn, and our rooms were on the lower end of just-OK. I would guess that it's been over 10+ years since the hotel was renovated, and it's probably time for the property owners to start fixing things up.

Aside from the worn look to the room (equipped with two double beds) and lackluster bathroom, my only comment is that the breakfast (included in the room rate) was served in the lobby (which was not overly quaint or comfortable).

I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago. The staff was great but the property was not. They might be starting to renovate some of the areas since the carpet was ripped up as is of ot was going to be replaced. My room was very spacious but the layout of the room was poor, and plenty of available space was not used. When I got to my room, I heard a snoring sound and thought that it was from another room next to me or above me. As it turned out, the noise was from my refrigerator. I was going to say something about it, but somehow I feel asleep and slept thorugh the night. The walls were quite thin, and many of the guests were loud and inconsiderate since they let doors slam and talked loud. Breakfast was great and the staff was friendly and cared about their guests.
Since IBM is headquarted not that far away from here, I would have thought that the hotel would be much better since I am sure IBM gets plenty of customers, employees, and suppliers who may stay overnight and would think that the hotel would consider this. Armonk is an expensive area, and the hotel certainly does not reflect it.
I could have stayed in White Plains, but this hotel was very close to where I needed to be. It is a shame that the hotel staff which was great does not have the best kept up hotel to work with as far as conditions are concerned. I did speak to some people that I know, and they told me that La Quinta has not kept up maintaining some of their properties. In this case it seems that there might be some renovations that are about to start, but who knows.
Once again, the hotel was not the best, nor the worst. Hopefully, the hotel will be renovated soon, and the great staff that works there can have a better hotel to work with than what they have now. I will be going back to this area soon, and would stay here since it is close to where I need to buy and makes no sense to stay too far away with gasoline prices the way they are now.

Room Tip: Check refrigerator in room and make sure that it does not make a snoring sound

Very suprised on the quality of the hotel in such a remote area. Front desk night staff was very helpful.

It's not terrible, but it's also not great. The walls are paper thin and you can hear 'everything' going on in the room next to you.

Difficult to recommend, but if you need a place to stay in the area and you are a sound sleeper, then maybe it won't bother you.

We complained to reception about the noise of the TV in the room next door on all 3 nights we stayed and they were very helpful and phoned the room immediately to ask them to turn the TV down... so staff were very accommodating...

Nothing special, but OK....

La Quinta Inn in Armonk was a clean and friendly hotel. While the room and bathroom was extremely clean, the beds were a bit soft. They offer a complimentary breakfast which was very nice and served in a bright sunny lobby.

Staff was very pleasant and caring! THe lounge and restaurant are very comfortable and relaxing at the end of the day. Wish the pool was open, but otherwise a fine experience for a businesas traveller.
