This was our third visit to the Conrad over a number of years and we have to say that it was the very best. The Maldives themselves are just heavenly with white beaches, very warm sea waters, fish everywhere and great weather. This trip saw a few hours of rain sprinkled throughout our week but the vast majority of the time was sunny and clear.

This time we went for a beach villa and could stroll straight out of our villa down to the beach and into the sea. Whilst we have previously had a water vial and they are nice , the beach villas are also great and just a little bit larger on the whole.

The key success that Conrad has a resort is it’s people who are very genuine and truly want you to have a fantastic time. This is best summed up by ordering the cheese plate in the Vilu restaurant. As the cheese is kept in controlled conditions on the other islands (there are two linked by a short bridge) you are asked what you would like for your cheeses. In our case we had enjoyed cheese previously so ordered Stilton, Manchego and the stinky cheese they did a couple of nights before that melts. Within ten minutes Beatrice, who is a great star performer for the report, appears with the tray of cheese. Nothing was too much trouble and in our post box we got a list of the cheeses we had enjoyed so we know the names for when we are back home. You really can’t put a price on service that just centres itself around you and your enjoyment of your holiday.

Our Island host, Anna was also a great help, always there is we wanted to book something, wanted a reservation , advise or the like but in a quiet way giving us space to enjoy ourselves and never feeling under any pressure to book anything if we didn’t want to.
Our Villa was 120 and I would be very happy to stay there again and again, indeed we will try and book to return next year. It is close enough to the heart of the main island without being anywhere too busy.

My key tip for having a great time is to talk with the staff, they are only too happy to engage with you, recommend the best wine, change the way a dish is prepared or offer some local insight. Another tip is that when you arrive at the Conrad lounge at Male airport have some fresh light clothes to change into, use their shower suite and arrive feeling more human, especially if you come in overnight on the direct flight from London.

We would recommend the wine dinner as a great occasion, the Tapas night as good fun, good value and very enjoyable and both the sunset grill and Vilu restaurants as exceptional places to dine.

All in all this was a great holiday and we will lookm to go back again next year

Room Tip: Decide what you want using the web site, a water villa has a very different feel to a beach villa , you need to work out what you want first.

It is difficult to review hotels in such a place like Maldives. Everybody knows a lot and seeks something special. About 50 5* hotels. Each place has advantages and disadvantages. I don't have a big experience of staying there but read a lot and got a lot advises. I have been to Maldives only once before at One & Only hotel and mostly vas disappointed. To posh, to boring .... On the contrary, I find the Conrad hotel as very good and I don't want to be a fault-finder.
Positive:
Not so big. It took me 6 min to walk around main island.
Very good food in the main Atoll restaurants. We had prepaid half- board and I found it as very suitable for us. Moreover, when we had a dinner in a different place they reduced our bill for 75 dollars per person. Must go place there is Koko grill restaurant. Grate food, grate chef. It was really big surprise for me to be in a such place on the edge of the World. Also I recommend to have a dinner at underwater restaurant. Really impressive spot. Food not so great but overall feeling awesome.
Our villa vas very clean. Also we were happy that cleaning itself was not annoying and stealthy.
Staff is cooperative, well trained and friendly.
Beach is almost perfect. Flat bottom, not so shallow even during low-tide.
Great diving and water sport centers.
House reef is not bad. I read a lot of positive feedbacks about it and it was one the main reason to pick this hotel. But my general impression, frankly speaking, was not so great. The reef itself is not so small but really vibrant, active spot with living corrals is just 100 x 30 meters. The rest, unfortunately, is dying. As far I can see this is the very typical for Maldives.
A lot of cute -looking Chinese girls among the tourists in very bright green, blue ... etc outfits.
Negatives:
Our villa 225 (Grand beach or something with pool) is really not so roomy for 3 people. There is no sitting area inside. Sleeping conditions are not good. Mattresses are uncomfortable. There is no anti-mosquito net on the door. Get ready for mosquito hunting at night. A toilet is the funniest place there. Just a couple of meters from bed, with a transparent door. Therefore, you have to do your stuff there either very carefully or elsewhere. The pool itself is more jakuzzi than pool with chemical smell . We did not use.
Crowd. Some parts of the beach are very crowded. In our part a distance between the people on the beach was just a few meters.
Not all villas have equal conditions. To my mind the best villas on the main island are 130 -140 and 210- 230. Part of the beach is destroying by waves and they try to fix it by big rusty pipes from the sea.
Villas on the water look like kind of hen-houses. No view, no privacy. Knee level sea.
Finally, I have to admit that these small drawbacks don't spoil the very positive general impression.

Room Tip: 1.Villas around 225 are better for snorkel 2.Villas around 130 are better for privacy 3.Buy a half-board. 4.Dont buy villas with pool, no use. 5.Book a Conrad lounge at airport on your way home.

Everything you would expect from a premium resort in the Maldivesincluding the premium prices but this was never advertised as a value for money destination.Accommodation (deluxe beach bungalow) on house reef side was perfect and as per other reviews was very private even though the resort was full. Breakfast was fantastic so much so that lunch and dinner were near redundant! The only minor frustration was the lack of communication regarding the return sea plane transfer which left us with 50 mins to catch our flight back to London which in the end was no issue at all - it almost seemed the norm - it would just have been useful to have been reassured at the time of departure.

It was our third time in Conrad and this time we had the best service ever mainly due to our excellent host. Anisa, - thank you very much for being so caring, proactive and responsive!!! We also noticed improved beaches on the sunrise side and it is still work in progress so probably will be even better next time. Would also strongly recommend Mundhoo restaurant, yoga sessions, and whale shark trips. Were a bit disappointed that unlike in in the last years there was no Halloween party, but were assured that next year it will be even better then before!

Room Tip: Deluxe beach villas are superb

I have recently visited Conrad Maldives again, and I really enjoyed our stay even though it was the 4th time visiting. It's getting better every time. I don't dare to go elsewhere and visit other resorts in Maldives. I am afraid I am going to be disappointed.

What makes Conrad Maldives amazing? It's the people, first it's the teammembers and staff in all the F&B outlets, the reception, housekeeping, the Spa, the Dive center, fitness, the boats and the management. Everyone shows great hospitality and provides excellent service. They are all proud to work in the beautifull resort and they are eager to please all their guests.
You can learn a lot about daily life in Maldives when they tell you about how their families live in their "Home Islands". And second it's about other guests, they are all very nice people. Some of them I have met again multiple times, so there are lots of repeaters.

Very nice people, beautiful nature scenes even more beautiful than the photos and pictures and excellent food and drinks. You can stay in villas on the beach or over the water, both options are great.

Breakfast at Vilu is the best way to start your day at the islands. Prefer the Quiet Zone for sunbathing and lunch. And maybe a sunset cocktail at Vilu bar after snorkeling, or you could go to Mandhoo for afternoon tea. Excellent food served by fantastic teammembers every night on Sunset Grill, Vilu, Mandhoo and in Rangali Bar. Or you could attend a special dinner in Ihtaa, the Wine Cellar or Beach barbecue. Not fond of buffets, but Atoll Market serves lot of guests for both breakfast and dinner.

I am already looking forward to go back.
