I am an 8 year old boy and I truly thought the Maldives was a great trip and journey. I would recommend going with kids for the excellent kids club Majaa with great staff taking care of you. The underwater restaraunt was definately one of the highlights of my journey, seeing all of the fish was great especially for kids. It was a great experience being surrounded by beaches and seas. It was my favorite place by far.

Beautiful underwater restaurant (can't imagine a more romantic spot for a proposal!), well styled over water villas, personalized guest management and a great in-house reef made this resort uniquely great. Even at maximum capacity there were very little people around, and you feel looked after with approx 1.5 staff employed per guest. However, other guests stayed mainly to themselves and weren't very friendly.

It was difficult to communicate with staff to arrange activities for the first day on the island (before arriving) - made especially difficult because of the unknown arrival/departure times of the seaplane transfer. Throughout the resort stay we had to reserve at all resorts restaurants before eating (often booked out) - this meant we had to stick to the clock between eating times which diminished the relaxed resort feel. However, the food is of a very high level (if not reasonably pricey). Service is first class and the staff are friendly.

We did the whale shark tour and had an incredible experience. There are happy hours and a few spare activities around the place. Free wifi around the main areas of the resorts and in the rooms. The whole resort is beautiful, spotless and the vilas are private, luxurious and beautiful.

Seaplane transfer to the island made comfortable because of the lounge, however the resort charges $80 pp to return to the lounge on your departure which is a very tacky sour note to leave on since we had an 8hr layover.

Room Tip: Choose an outer villa facing the ocean to catch the sunrise & sunset.

We spent our Honeymoon in Conrad-Rangali and were simply overwhelmed by the beauty of these 2 islands, by the quality of the rooms and the food and the friendlyness of the staff!

From the second day on almost all the personell addressed us by name, they always remembered our preferences and handled all questions very efficiently, quickly and to our satisfaction.

Yes, it is expensive but it's also worth every cent you spend.

We had a beach villa deluxe with lots of privacy (no view from outside into the private garden with Pool) on the eastern beach - which is by far the best place to be: broad, sandy beach with Sun from sunrise until 4 p.m., direct access to the snorcheling area on the fantastic house-reef and as close as possible to the restaurant- and bar-area.

Halfboard is a Good choice because the Buffet is huge, very good and the food changes every day. In case you want to dine out in One of the other 4 restaurants you will receive a credit of 75.-US$/person.

Free WIFI wherever you are and excellent mobile connection.

We visit this hotel twice two years ago and four years ago. It is a really wonderful hotel. The staff is splendid above all. They are always kind with a smile.
It was the room which it was wide, and was comfortable with cleanliness where we stayed at the spa villa.
There were a lot of restaurants. Thanks to you, I was able to eat a meal without getting tired of a menu. The meal which we worried about did not have any problem at all and was very delicious. We had Outlet Manager of Atoll Market teach explanation of the food or recommended liquor. I had him be really nice to me.
The wife went to the spa many times. She says that it is the best spa so far. I like time to spend a book to one hand on the beach of this hotel. I could forget all the unpleasant things and was able to be refreshed. I recommend that I spend much time on the beach.
We visit this hotel again from April 29. I overwhelm a lot of cocktail in the poolside and eat dinner in Ithaa Undersea Restaurant and am going to enjoy the cruising this time.

We have just stayed at Conrad Rangali for 8 nights and had a really good stay. I have seen some comments earlier to whether Conrad is worth the extra money compared to Hilton, and have noted that the very nice resort manager have answered that it is a totally different experience, it is, but not In all areas:
We have stayed in both within the last 9 months and can therefore compare, so this review will try to give our verdict to this question

Beach Villas
The standard beach villas at Conrad are not detached as they are at the Hilton, which off cause will give you a lot more noise from the people staying next door, even being the same size as Hilton Iru, but the quality of materials used are much higher at the Conrad and the cleaning at the beach villas is much better, especially in the courtyard aka outside bathroom, furthermore I have noted in previous reviews that some did not like the fountain in the small courtyard - we loved it, both the sound and to look at.
One issue to take in account: A lot more mosquitos at Hilton and the rooms were actually really dark – where lots of light came into the villas at Conrad through the courtyard with the fountain.

Water villas
We stayed at a water villa for the last 2 days at both. Here it is more a tie, but the plunge pool at Conrad is what sets the water villas here in a different league. They are small, but still so nice to lounge in and looking at the stars at night and all materials are just a step up, the whole experience feels more sturdy somehow, and the privacy fences is a really good idea, not only for the privacy, but just as much for the light pollution as you see so many more stars and shooting starts without the light flooding in from the villas next door.
Conrad a winner here due to the pools, the privacy fence and the quality of materials, but must say we also loved the WV at Hilton.

Snorkelling:
The snorkelling at Conrad was amazing at the reef by the beach villas, a beautiful healthy reef with lots of schools of fish and sharks, turtles and octopus were seen daily.
By the WV the bottom was mostly sandy, but with small patches of reef around, very shallow in the morning, but by mid-afternoon it would be fine again. Much better snorkelling than at the Hilton in general, loved the baby sharks swimming around the shallow water. Conrad wins no question here.

Beach:
Hilton Iru a clear winner, the sand was much softer and had much larger more deserted beaches and the paths around the Island was much nicer to walk bare feet, maybe the better reef equals - not as fine sand at Conrad?
Dining:
Honestly? A tie a bit better offering at Conrad, but at a higher price
Pool areas:
For children: Hilton Iru a clear winner, a crowded and small pool area by the main dining area at Conrad compared to the amazing really huge isolated jungle pool at Hilton.
The main area at Conrad was congested with both bar, pool and water sport area in a very small spot.
For adults though: loved the quiet zone at Conrad and the private pools in the basic WV.

Procedures and processes:
Some minor issues that give a bit uneven experience at the Conrad: if you offer Hilton welcome amenities give them to all! We had them after we asked; other Diamond members we talked did not get them at all. If you only offer them reluctantly - then remove it from your webpage otherwise it just seems unprofessional.
Welcome drink at check in - again we could see most people were offered - not us though - a real minor issue, but these things is an indication that management is not in total control and that procedures for welcome processes are not clearly implemented.

Summary
All in all an amazing and decadent hotel, but only worth the extra money from Hilton if snorkelling is really important and that the double price on the rooms and 30% higher price on food does not scare you away.

When it comes to the quality of the buildings, material used and cleaning of the beach villas Conrad wins hands down, but service in general is just as good at the Hilton.

Room Tip: Ask to be located by the reef at the east side of the main Island for best snorkeling

This is paradise on earth! The service is immaculate and there's plenty of things to do on these two islands. Great diving, manta paradise....a dive at manta point is a must!
Food is great with many different restaurants to choose between. Travelled with our 2 year old son and he loved the kids club.
