My husband and I stayed at Kandolhu on an ultimate all inclusive basis for 7 nights in June 2019. We had done a lot of research into the different Maldives islands and had booked Kandolhu in the hope that it would meet our desires of an excellent standard of food and an intimate, quiet resort. Our high expectations were well and truly met! The food was delicious! We ate so much whilst we were there as there was just so much choice! We especially enjoyed eating freshly made tacos from the small restaurant on the jetty. We also loved the Sea Grill restaurant as there was so much variety and the quality was excellent (you must try the tuna steak and also the halloumi!)
We spent our first 4 nights in a beach pool villa. We loved the privacy that this villa had. It was so peaceful and the room was HUGE! The minibar was filled with high quality food and drinks and the extras that came with the room such as a Go Pro camera, beach bag, bat and ball and pre-stamped postcards were an added bonus.
We spent our final 3 nights in a water villa with a private pool. The room/pool/bathroom/view is simply breathtaking! It certainly lived up to the photos that we’d seen on Kandolhu’s Instagram page. We especially enjoyed snorkelling straight from our villa- we saw several turtles and plenty of tropical fish.
We spent our days on Kandolhu enjoying the food and drink, sea-kayaking, paddle boarding (both of which are free), snorkelling (also free- and equipment is provided) and relaxing in our villa.
We enjoying the private snorkelling trip with CJ. It was great to have someone experienced with us for our first snorkel around the island. We saw an eagle ray, shark and turtles. CJ gave us some tips which made our future snorkels equally as brilliant.
We both had massages in the spa ($50pp for a 30 minute express treatment). These were thoroughly enjoyable and the setting of the spa is beautiful and tranquil. My husband especially liked the head massage.
We attended both a cheese and wine event and a cocktail full moon event during our stay. Both were lovely; very relaxed atmospheres and delicious food and drinks. What was especially enjoyable was how the staff interacted with guests during these events. We were made to feel welcome and our specific needs were always catered to.
Overall, our stay was simply perfect. From the friendly, genuine welcome to the delicious al a carte meals, to the amazing sea life (shark and turtles regularly swam past our rooms!) and finally to the wonderful staff. The staff truly made our stay! They were ALL friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Staff members knew our names and food/drink/table preferences which really made us feel special.
I could probably continue writing for a long time as we had such an incredible time in Kandolhu but I’ll stop for now! Until next time, thank you so much to everyone at Kandolhu! We will be back! Stephanie and William
