“Beautiful location and grounds... pity about the quality of the rooms”
Reviewed December 23, 2010

Recently stayed at this hotel resort mainly for the purpose of relaxation and the use of the spa facilities. The 'superior' room I stayed in was tired and shabby around the edges and the TV had a limited number of choice of channels. The service and food at the cafe was average (avoid the 'chef's salad') and there was quite a bit of noise coming from other rooms. The highlights at this resort definitely are the beautifuls grounds, swimming pool and golf course. The Spa was a personal highlight for me with suberb service and professionalism - without compare. Thanks to the excellent staff at the Spa Med and Beauty - I had a wonderful experience.

The Saujana is an excellent hotel although it is far away from the centre and it is sometimes difficult to find a taxi. Outside the hotel there is very little so there is little entertainment, food, options except those offered by the hotel. One minus is that the wifi only works in the reception area and not in the room.

I used this hotel 1st time.

Near to KLIA - 45 Minutes on Taxi.

I reached hotel early in the morning and find rooms were not ready as it was early checkin. Hence make sure about Checkin timing.

However Hotel helped me to fresh in club house and provided all facility to start for meeting at 09:30 AM.

Good Hotel, Beutiful, Green, good Restro. Good Meeting rooms, Good Pool.

Internate is free for 24 Hours only.

Value for money

I only stayed here one night for a friend's wedding and found that the rooms are sub-standard and most of the front-desk staff are not helpful or friendly in any way.

It is quite common for showers to overflow and for your toilet floor to flood. But my stay at Hotel Saujana was a new experience. I stayed in a room that had a different design from the rest (i was informed only rooms 2202 and 2203 have this design). This design causes the whole toilet to flood 2 inches deep!!

Ridiculous Design -
1. Toilet did not have a bathtub (not a big issue for me, just that the rest of the rooms had bathtubs).
2. Shower floor was slanted with the drainage hole on the highest point.
3. This causes the water to flow out the shower door to the rest of the toilet
4. You will not notice this until after you have showered
5. The water level outside the shower stall rises until about 2 inches deep!!
6. Placing towels by the shower door will prevent flooding, but the inside of the shower stall will flood instead. You will have to walk in your own dirty water.

Inconsistent information from hotel staff -
1. The housekeeping staff and some other staff members (e.g. porters) that I met informed me that everyone knows about the issues with these two rooms (2202 & 2203). They also mentioned that many guests have complained about the same flooding issue.
(to be fair, housekeeping cleaned up the room really well)
2. These rooms are sample SHOW ROOMS done by the contractor while renovating / building that hotel wing
3. The room / toilet design was rejected by hotel management
4. This was done MANY YEARS ago
5. The front desk staff deny all knowledge of the above
6. In any case this is a major failure by the hotel management to ensure the comfort of the guests. A simple check will reveal that water does not flow uphill!!!!

It is my belief that the management were aware of this problem, yet still give this room out to guests. Upon complaining, they did not offer to change the room for me. Instead, they said they would "check with the manager". Although they probably would have changed the room if i had insisted, I did not have time for this.

Upon check-out, when I asked the same front-desk staff what the manager said, she said she did not know. How ridiculous is that?? I requested to speak to the manager, who denied all knowledge of this problem and did little to resolve this other than repeating the long-winded procedure of how she will inform head of engineering etc during the hotel management meeting.

A sales staff called me up the next day to say they have investigated this, and repeated the same procedure to me.

Other problems:
1. A friend had to request for another room. Her room on a non-smoking floor stank of cigarettes.
2. Security staff did not know the way to a room in the Club @ Saujana. He only informed us that he did not know after 15 minutes of walking and left us in the foyer of the 1st floor.
3. Manager at Peranakan house bar is extremely rude

Do NOT stay at the Saujana Hotel.
You will NOT see many of the staff SMILE at you. This is a clear indication of how bad things are.
Do NOT confuse this hotel with the Club @ Saujana, which seems to be much better.

Only stayed here one night because I was flying Berjaya Air to Tioman Island and the airline only leaves from Subang airport. Taxi to here from KLIA was 63 ringit. Warm reception. Rooms worn and door opens only with a KEY. Yes a real key. Rare to find in this day and age in a hotel of this standard. There is a bar connected to the edge of the hotel, club bar. Not sure if it is part of this hotel but was alive when I arrived 10pm with local and hotel guests.Morning had a quick walk before taxi to airport. Pleasant pool and views of the golf course over from it. Buffet breakfast included ( should be for the price I paid for the room). Choice and quality as good as Pan Pacific. Check out smooth. Booked on their site and got a bill from Direct WithHotels 27.50 ringit. This is strange as I booked with the hotel web site not this compamy. Mentioned to reception and told I should have rang them to make booking and it would have been much cheaper. Hum...

I said this hotel is number one few moments after I arrived there. Outside the city, in a very green and peaceful area near Shah Alam , opposite to a golf course, but only almost 30 min drive till Kuala Lumpur center.Large rooms, equipped with all necessary and most of all, or first to say - very clean. A very good restaurant offering tasty breakfast buffet as well as very good lunch or dinner. The pleasant ambiance in the lobby in the evening, when a band is playing nice traditional instrumental music. The small pond with fishes and few turtles inside the restaurant. There is a very nice pool, always clean. IDD phone possibility is indeed provided in the room, unlike in other hotels, where they only claim to have this service. Internet access is also provided. And most important the very very friendly and helpful staff of the Saujana, be it at the front desk, or the restaurant staff (really having your meals at their restaurant is a full desire). The architecture of the hotel is also very interesting (like a labyrinth, first day i had to remember the way to and from the room), It is around one hour away from KLIA airport.
Few advice: if you need to travel to Kuala Lumpur city center or for sightseeing, just ask them to call a taxi for you, and then deal your travels directly with the driver. The hotel limousine service will charge you much more. For those interested I can provide a contact to a very good driver, who knows all the places on an area of at least 50 km around.
Second: they provide Evian mineral water in the rooms (big bottles, beside the Saujana mineral water which is in small bottles) but the Evian costs 39 ringgit. So, when you go out buy your water on the way, you will get it for 1,50 ringgit.
Third: when booking the accommodation at their hotel (they will accept only credit card or prepayment) don't book also the airport pick up, it is very expansive. Instead get a taxi from the airport taxi counter - to Saujana from KLIA it is only 65 ringgit.
All together, Saujana Kuala Lumpur hotel (it's called so even if it is near Shah Alam) is the only hotel in the area I will return when ever I will be again inKuala Lumpur. Because everything there is perfect. Because it is number one hotel in Malaysia (well beside the Rumbia resort in Paka).
