Went there from 10.10.13 until 12.10.13 for my graduation. Booked online through Booking.com @ Agoda, couldn't remember it quite well but got best deals. RM150/room. We booked 2 rooms. Went to the room. The view quite nice. The beddings also quite nice but most of the furnitures are old. Should refurbish. The bathroom also need refurbishing. The hotel lobby feels so dull and lifeless. Iron and ironing board is provided outside. I need to steal the iron for a moment so that i can just ironed my clothes inside my room. Heheh.

Overall, it's average and if you should only go when you are desperate.

P/s: have to give credit on the location though because there're 2 shopping malls around the hotel and you can just walk there for a quick shopping. The SACC Mall got Pizza Hut, Secret Recipe etc. plus, parking is free but you have to go to the counter and get it stamped.

For RM 205 a night and upgraded to a suite, can say value for money but the hotel badly needs refurbishment. Flooring panels were out, tap for bath tub was not funtionaing, floor dusty, corridor smells not right, etc. Coffee house staff could be better. Staff did not give me complete set of cutlery, had assume the fork left behind by previous patron was not used. Saw staff asked another patron to take the cutlery from another table. One security guard who as at the coffee house seems to be helpful. He helped to set the tables. Ice cream spilled on floor of lift lobby to car park on previous night was not cleared at all the next day. Car park which is part of the Plaza Perangsan is dark and stuffy.

One housekeeping staff was courteous, asked us is everything in order when we met her at the corridor

Finding the hotel is like going round a maze

We opt for this hotel for our 1st visit to Shah Alam. Spacious room for family of 3 but in whole the hotel needs to be refurbished. Breakfast was okay. Great location too and I guess all ladies will be happy as it was near the shopping amenities and food heaven for those looking for a great sumptuous meal.
Just a walking distance to the lakes, wet Park and also the “Blue Mosque”.
Certainly I will recommended to friends and will definitely going there again.

The only thing missing in this hotel is the "Quality". Totally run down hotel, badly need a refurbishment. Luckily for us, it was a group booking and we did not stay long in this hotel, cos most of the time we were out.
Room 2215 faucet was leaking badly. Room 2131 toilet wooden door is decayed. House keeping sucks, they only clean the room late evening.
The only nice thing about this hotel is the location, situated right next to the SACC Mall. And the bed and pillows were quite comfortable; maybe we were just super tired that we slept like a rock.

In general, this hotel is average, look like this hotel it is quite old. more like 3-4 star hotel.
The interisting is the location is surrounding with mall and culinary spot.
If you stay there, you should Gearbox soup at the mall that located at front of the hotel...(sorry forgot the name, but it located at ground floor together with mini market)

The hotel rooms are on the last 5 or 6 floors of the building. I think the rest of the floors are office space for various companies. The hotel lift does not stop at every floor and only goes directly to the hotel floors. Nice & quick.
The rooms are fairly big. Hotel is probably only 2 1/2 stars. Would have given it 3 stars at a pinch, if they provided good service.
We were only staying only 1 night on our way to Hong Kong the next day.
Main purpose of our stay here was to go to I-City in the evening.
When I arrive at a hotel, all I want is a few slices of lemon to go with my cup of tea. Rang and rang and never got the lemon, shows poor service. Its not a difficult request.
But the location is the reason why I chose this hotel. Brilliant. Right across from the Plaza Alam Central. Great shopping. No bargaining required as prices are fixed and marked. Good places to eat on the outside of the mall.
A 5 min walk to the Blue Mosque and its surrounding lake & gardens.
Several different malls located around the hotel, a 3 minute walk to them, unfortuately due to very heavy rain the next day, we didnt get a chance to go to them.
But we did go to I-city in the evening. Rm7 taxi fare. This place is amazing. Loved it so much that we will be going back again.
Reception staff were ok, but most struggled with English. Lack of motivation seems to sum up the reception area. Plenty of staff there, but we had to call out to them to get some attention.
Was disappointed as roof top pool area was closed. Not mentioned in their web page. Just wanted to go to the roof top to take photos and relax.
A new water theme park is being built near I-City, I should imagine the Shah Alam area will become quite popular then. If this hotel wants the business, they need to put their staff through a training programme and make the customers feel much more welcome.
TV is shocking. Poor programme choices & a lot of channels were of poor reception quality, so you couldnt watch it anyway. We just didnt bother turning it on in the end.
The room was basic. But just adequate for our stay of 1 night.
Would I stay here again. Perhaps for 1 night only as a means to being close to I-City and some good shopping.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the shopping centre opposite the hotel, at least you can people watch, as...

My definite last stay at Quality Shah Alam was during the fasting month in August 2012. Have been here twice before, both for meetings by the same Ministry. So, this review refects the 3-year span of 'getting involved' with this hotel. During the first stay in 2010, the room was already below average in all conditions - specifically the not so comfortable bedding, pathetic in-room entertainment (both reception quality and channels) & toilettries which practically redefined the minimalis concept...and to a certain extent, the reception who seemed adequately trained, but simply appeared lacking in motivation, which must be due to the severely lacklustre surrounding of the 'lobby' (if you can categorized it as such). To keep things brief, for 2012, simply try to visualize those situations, and multiply them 10-fold. The latest stay was also marred with a 'one hour trapped in the elevator' experience that finally seals the deal for me. The staff were very helpful in dealing with the situation, but I no longer feel safe being in the building anymore till some serious upgrading is done. Despite the good food and excellent location of this hotel, I will have to decline further meeting invitations by the related Ministry, simply for the reason of not wanting to return to this place.

Room Tip: Give this one a miss if you have to pay on your own...
