I had a quick layover at KLIA last month, and chose to give this formerly Pan Pacific KLIA a second chance. I stayed at the former property a few times and were very disappointed with the outdated rooms and poor service. I am a bit hesitant but since I had an early morning flight the next day, I choose to stay here. The location was very convenient, and there was a golf cart service to bring guests from the airport meeting spot, which is in the mezzanine level between departure and arrival, to the hotel lobby.

The hotel has gone through a renovation and the lobby looks a bit more updated, and the rooms are also refreshed. I booked a Hollywood themed room, which was very nicely decorated. The internet connection was reasonable and for a short night, it was good.

My only issue during the stay was the arrangement from the hotel to the Low Cost Carrier Terminal, which was twenty minutes away from the international terminal. The hotel offered a paid shuttle service, but the frequency was simply bad. The hotel was able to offer a private car service, which was expensive, but there were really not many choices. However when I arrived at the car service counter the next morning, the concierge told me that they had no record of my request. Thankfully the hotel receipt had an invoice number, and the guy was able to find me a car service quickly. I was a bit disappointed because it was not a cheap ride, and there should be better communication between the front desk and their transportation team.

In conclusion, it is a nice airport hotel and Sama Sama hotel does a good job in refreshing the hotel, and I hope they can continue to maintain these rooms to the high standard.

Perfect for an overnight stay before early morning flight. Good Executive Lounge amenities but not warm or inviting, except for the staff. Recommend for that reason. Lobby is pretty but rooms are just comfortable enough.

We would recommend this as a place to stay.

Positives
- There’s a free buggy from the airport to the hotel.
- Everything in the room worked (once you have mastered how the room’s gadgets work!).
- There are several lifts, so queuing wasn’t a problem.
- Bell boys didn’t seem to expect a tip (although we did tip a small amount).
- Complimentary range of toiletries and bottled water.
- Kuala Lumpur centre is only half-an-hour away by the Skytrain.
- Plenty of places to eat in the airport.

Major negatives
NONE!

Minor negatives
- A bit expensive by Malaysian standards.

Tips:
- The remote control for the TV is inside a holder on the bedside table.
- The minibar is on a system so you can’t use it as a fridge for your own items.

I stayed here last weekend for the Formula 1 Grand Prix as it is the only 5 star hotel anywhere near the track and found it to be excellent in every way. The hotel was overbooked but still managed to provide great service. It definitely deserves the best airport hotel status. I usually stay in high end international chains like the Grand Hyatt or Mandarin Oriental but found this to be an excellent alternative.

Check in staff were friendly and helpful and my luggage was taken straight to my room.

The buggy service from the airport is a big bonus. I travelled to and from the track on the bus from below the airport so used the buggy several times and it was always quick and easy. When I left at midnight they put me and my cases on the buggy, drove to the airport lift and loaded my stuff onto a trolley. Ideal.

I had breakfast each morning and it was everything you could want in terms of choice and quality. I also had the lunch buffet and it was excellent and great value. There is a coffee shop in the lobby that serves all kinds of deli items, cakes and bread products to either eat there or take away. I found this very convenient as I was travelling alone and didn't always want a full meal in the restaurant. Good prices too.

The room was large, comfortable and had free wifi. The only thing I could fault is they don't do turndown at night which I do appreciate. I guess if I had expressly asked for it they would have provided the service.

I think some of the reviews on here are for the other Sama Sama that is within the airport as they don't make sense. There is a very good restaurant serving all sorts of food and not just pizza type food. The other hotel is just a stopover one and not designed for long stay.

Overall, a great hotel and although not near KL city, you can get anywhere using the trains and buses. For a stopover you would go a long way to find a better hotel.

Room Tip: As there are no views to be had I can't see it would make much difference really. They have one club floor but other than that I think any room would be fine.

Excellent location, connected to the airport. Building impressive when you arrive in the foyer. But..........
We had booked a Club/Executive Floor Room, there was confusion on our arrival about checking in downstairs. We are then told the Club Room Lounge is closed for 5 days for maintenance and we can still have cocktails and breakfast downstairs. Check-in was not warm, friendly but awkward. Our room was very nice very modern, bed very comfortable. S no Club Room to go for a cool juice or coffee so we went to the Pool, beautiful oasis in this Hotel. But no drinks available directly but they ordered in for us, like room service.

Thought about this and made a complaint to the Reception in the lobby that out price included the lounge and non-alcoholic drinks during the day. I will give them their dues they quickly sorted this out and credited our juices at the pool and said he could have complimentary coffee.
I should not have had to make this approach to them, they should have organised this prior to guests arrival. This is not 5 star service.

The cocktails in the evening had been set up in a nice lounge, with very good food choices, an limited drink choices, when my husband asked for a spirit he was told the Hotel had run out.

To top this all off break fast was from 6am, we arrived at this time due to our early flight time.
The food was not set up, it was only partially there. The lady apologised and said she did not know why the young man in charge did not have things ready. So in the end we had a cup of tea and a couple of pastries he had laid out. We left at 6.20am and breakfast was still not set up.
So much for having a cooked egg. We paid a lot of money for this room for a touch of luxury and we did not get this. We had just spent 7 nights at a 4 Star Hotel Club Room that out performed this place.

I know the Hotel has been under pressure over these recent weeks but I am sorry the Management have not got their management / leadership right.

Excellent location, excellent facilities, why let yourself down.
