I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights..had a business program at the hotel and loved the place!

The hotel is quite far from the airport but once you arrive its a different world all together..amazing rooms..excellent bathroom..lovely buffet spread for breakfast and a great shopping mall next door! All that you need in a great hotel :-D

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful..helped us check in early and everything was taken care of..we had a party in the hotel one evening and that was arranged brilliantly!

Overall a great experience and I will definitely go back to this hotel..!

Stayed for a night in 1 World with my kid. Generally, room is better than expected, though the mattress is a bit hard. Room is clean, however, the bathroom is another matter. The bathtub had a layer of grime near the water outlet & the water outlet is clogged with hair. Asked the cleaner to clean up which they promptly did. Room service was efficient. Overall, ok hotel.

Stayed here for two nights, surprised to find that our room is bigger than that of other hotels I stayed in the past. Although it would have been better if they could give free in-room internet access.

Conveiniently located next to the 1 Utama shopping mall, a wide variety of food is available in the various mall food courts and restaurants. The breakfast buffet in the hotel is the finest that I have seen in Asia. Western, Chinese, Malay dishes are rotated daily. Only negative about this hotel is the "broadband" internet. At 30 rm for 24 hours it is not too bad of a bite, but it is S L O W. You may do better on a dial-up at some times of the day

From the outside, the hotel was new and pretty but the insides had no warmth or soul. The short getaway/ family vacation last weekend (06 – 08 November) was marred with distaste from the service of the hotel. Bitter taste felt by all around. For sure we will not be coming back to this hotel any more then we have.

We arrived at the reception desk at 210pm and tried checking in. after checking about in with they system, the receptionist informed us that 2 out of the 3 room booked was ready. The third room would only be available at 4pm. Supposed check in time – 3pm. Since it wasn’t convenient for all of us to squeeze into the 2 available rooms, we requested for a holding room until the 3rd room was ready. Receptionist looked alarmed, sounded unsure and was hesitant when she told us that was not possible. 10 seconds later, the 3rd room was miraculously cleaned and ready for us to check in.

Right.

While doing the payment process, our debit card used to pay for the first two room was declined. This was because the receptionist had failed to inform us that she would be charging a deposit of RM$300/room/night in addition to full payment of our room stay. She was charging us RM$325 + taxes and RM$600 (deposit) per room. Total amount attempted to be deducted for 2 rooms was close to RM$1800.

We were surprised at such a high deposit (close to 90% of the cost of the room per night). We’ve traveled to many hotels in KL, Malaysia and in Asia but have never encountered such a large deposit. Not even in 5 star hotels. When queried why, the receptionist said that this was ‘standard procedure’ and accounted for additional amenities like the mini bar.

Since she didn’t offer a reasonable response, we refused to pay for deposit and insisted on paying for just the rooms that we have booked. Receptionist eventually completed the transaction and we were given keycards to all 3 rooms. This was close to an hour later, at 3pm. Before leaving the reception desk, We requested that the manager give us a buzz in our room (he was not on duty at that moment) between 330pm – 4pm. Name give Suzairi or was it Suzaine (no name card given when we eventually met)

5pm came, no call from the Manager was received. While we were at the pool, hotel staff came to lock up the mini fridge and remove chargeable snacks from the room. At 515pm, one of the rooms our family member occupied called housekeeping to report a faulty remote control.

When we came down to the lobby on our way out for dinner at 630pm, we requested to see the manager, he appeared some 5 mins later. When enquired if he received a message that we had requested to see him. He claimed he did but was too busy as the Sultan was in/on the way to the venue.

Right.

Couldn’t even leave an interim message that he’ll get back to us? Of course with the Sultan on his way, paying guests are the least of his priority. Much less, paying customers with feedback. If there was any other way a service provider can belittle its customers, then this was right up the alley.

We conveyed our bad experience at the receptionist when checking in, and shared with him our rude shock when the mini bar was locked.

He listened all right, nodded in agreement, but no apology was given for locking up the mini bar. He also noted that deposit could have been reduced at the discretion of the staff. Yes, tell us that after we’ve made full payment and after they’ve locked the mini bar. Try also telling that to the receptionist who claims that this was a standard procedure.

Everyone of us in our entourage agreed that the wrong approach was taken. I don’t think items from the mini bar could have amounted to the RM$300 deposit required. I don’t think you should even second guess your guests into believing that they’re going to trash your room before they even step into it. We’re civilized folks. We come with our family to have a good time. If we take anything from the mini bar, we’ll definitely pay for it. To treat your guests, with so little dignity is disgraceful. Never have I expected One World Hotel to be so incredulous.

You think with an experience like that, we’d come back again?

And yes, housekeeping did came to fix the remote control eventually. At 1030pm, after calling the second time around.

You’d think that if they can come in while you’re not around to lock the mini bar, they can come when you’re not around to fix a problem you’ve reported, think again

My daughter and I stayed at One World for 4 days and were spoiled by the dedicated staff. Beds were comfortable, view was great and the adjoining shopping centre was huge. Can't wait to return.

I always book my foreign bosses into One World Hotel when they are here in Malaysia. The location is very good (in the centre of Petaling Jaya), plus it's very near to our office.
Yesterday i stopby & dropped some documents for my boss at the lobby. When i leave, my car's engine cant start due to car' battery. Idris was the one who helped me out and i am very thankful for his kindness.
