“Quiet and remote hotel”

Saujana Golf & Country Club
Reviewed December 11, 2012

The Saujana is the choice to go if you want a quiet surrounding and you possibly have half a day off to spend in the green or at the pool. It has a huge open reception with the rooms in adjacent buildings. So you have to walk a little bit from room to the restaurants or the entrance. The rooms are modern and provide a basic comfort. The good thing about the rooms is that they are very, very quiet. It feels like you were far away from the city. Sveral restaurants are available, all of them are good. The drawback is that there is not a lot around to do without taking a taxi. So it is good for playing golf or business trips, but less for visiting KL.

Firstly, I had a serious trouble when driving in to the main entrance of the resort from the main road enroute from KL-Subang Airport . While it was only 8:00p.m. the roadside was not sufficiently iluminated. No signboard at the main junction of the entrance (near roundabout) was available to guide me to the resort, so confused that I turned to the Custom building located to the right. When I finally arrived, I found that the parking lot was located quite a distance from the main lobby such that I scarred my trolly bag while dragging it there.
The deco design was a lame immitation of Balinese art, typical for the local resort built in the 90s. Not only that it resembles the past, the poor maintenance add ins to the unwelcome rustic features. Perhaps due to the low budget, you can see river stones decoration along the way to the hotel rooms.
There is a pure horror feeling when using the outdated lift when there is no confirmation of its fitness certificate from the authority being displayed. NOt even emergency number to call if you are trapped inside.
Room - poor old carpet with sick building feeling. TV- CRT bulky model of the 80s with very limited choice of cable chanels, Toilet bowl- poorly designed with the absence of water host for hygiene purposes.
The only thing good was the breakfast, it was made available as early as 6:30 a.m. (perhaps to accomodate the golfers).

The country club has a rustic charm. Like any great club, everything is spacious. It is most enjoyable sitting at the coffee house, especially after a light rain. very refreshing and serving is huge.

Looked forward so much to playing golf in Malaysia however we felt empty when we left.
We played the Bunga Raya course. The course itself was a well maintained golf course and was in great playing condition. Ground staff were always smiling and waving and saying hello. Caddie was good as well. However it stops about there I have played over 100 golf courses in Australia and around 4-5 overseas and this would rank as the worst courses regarding genuine hospitality. After paying $400 Australian to play golf for two including playing 15 holes and first 3 holes again and not being told by anyone that three holes were out of play play due too 3 holes out due to construction work was extremely disappointing.
After round went in to give feedback staff in pro shop and reception really didn't want to know, we felt like we meant nothing as if we weren't members so we didn't count so bad luck was it shown anything regarding we to eat , showers etc. Finally when we finally found somewhere to eat in the clubhouse no one acknowledged us until we asked for service after finding our own seats and waiting there for 30 mins then we finally got service meals took 40 mins to come.
In closing I'm a person who rarely has negatives to say in public forum but I felt it was a must fellow travelers must know.
