I stayed 2D/2N. First impression was not encouraging. The hotel could not check me in at 3 pm because the encoder machine was not working then and I could not be issued with a keycard. Finally half an hour later I was issued a temporary keycard (copied from a master keycard whatever that means).
The toilet cover was dusty and I had to wipe off the dirt with the floor towel.
Then the room safe was found to be not working. However it was fixed promptly. The same problem cropped up again the next morning. This time front desk came with someone to replace the faulty safe.

Generally the room was comfortable.
My room came with a glass table, lounge armchair and foot stool which had an obvious cigarette burn mark. The room could do with more drawers for clothes and underthings.

I get the feeling that this hotel caters more for business men and not enough for women. At least it came with a long mirror, which I find missing in many classier hotel rooms.

Amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, flat panel tv, iron+iron board, coffee/tea facilities, 2 bottles of drinking water daily, newspaper daily, hairdryer, disposable room slippers..

The spacious bathroom came with very good shower, reasonable thick towels for face, hand, bath, and floor.
Bathroom toiletries include shower cap, shower gel, conditioning shampoo, soaps, facial tissues, cotton buds, sewing kits.
BUT no body cream. Also no toothbrush+toothpaste, comb, razor, although I think housekeeping may provide if requested.

The staff were polite and friendly.

I asked for an extra hour before check out, and the hotel obliged.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for a better view and less street noise. Also ask for non-smoking floor.

Stayed 5 nights at this hotel. First and foremost, the price is the same even if you booked directly with the hotel or with Hotels.com When I checked into the hotel, I was told I booked via Expedia Malaysia. I was surprised initially but later I found out that Expedia Malaysia was the main wholesaler for this hotel. Interesting note. The hotel is quite a distance from the KLIA ( Kuala Lumpur International Airport. I bought a fixed rate coupon from the taxi counter at a cost of MR 64.00 and later I found out it was the right thing to do. You have two choices to go to the Hotel from KLIA either by metered taxi or coupon rate taxi. Choose the later as there won't be any surprises. God knows where the taxi driver will take you to as the journey us fairly long. Really far to be honest. I was given the 23rd floor, one floor below the Penthouse which is nice as the view from the top was fantastic. Room was clean, check in was a breeze as there were a few check in counters. All they asked was a MR 200 deposit for incidentals which was reasonable. You can pey either by CASH or pre-approved credit card deposit. No money taken out until you sign the final bill. I was told the local calls to cell phone would be 9 cents a minute, however after using for 40 mins, the bill came to MR 57.00 I disputed it with the duty manager and he cordially agreeded to MR 40 which I though was reasonable. Becareful on those calls. I was misinformed. The best way out is to buy a cheap phone at a nearby mall ( Mall 33) ask for directions, about 15 mins walk in the hot sun won't kill you..Buy a local sim card from Maxis for MR 30.80 and you will have MR 35.00 talk time. Transportation was good as this hotel is close to a LRT or Skytrain. It will take you to KL Sentral and you can connect from there. This line runs straight to KLCC so if KLCC is your destination then just one trip will take you there, no need to change train. Best place to change money is in Sungei Wang Plaza. Looks like recently renovated. If you are on an early flight back home and needs transportation to airport, book a taxi to KL Sentral for MR 20 and take the KLIA Express for MR 35.00 otherwise expect to pay MR 100.00 from Armada to KLIA. If you have a party of 2 or more, take the taxi.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor room

There is nothing seriously wrong with this hotel. The service is great and the hotel restaurant does a decent breakfast and dinner buffet at very reasonable prices. It is just a stones throw from the PJ Hilton but you will pay more than 1/3 less at the Armada. The biggest issue with this hotel is :

(1) Location - it is not near to anything, like shops or amenities. The nearest shopping centre is at the Amcorp Mall which is probably 10 mins direct walk away but that would mean dashing across a very busy 10 lane expressway and jumping over the fence that divides the road and then after that dodging the motorcycles on that motorcycle lane.

(2) Transport - yes, the public LRT is also within sight lines but again requires a dash over a main road (albeit only 4 lane) with a total walk time of around 10 minutes. But if it is raining......there is no shelter all the way there and back, In KL when it rains.........it pours.

(3) Construction work - there is a lot of construction work going on adjacent to the hotel so it is not easily walk-able in and out of the hotel grounds as you will have to pay attention to trucks, concrete mixers, cranes etc i.e. if you still want to walk out of the hotel

(4) Taxi - which means, the only practical mode of transport is the taxi. Unfortunately, taxis will need to be called by the hotel concierge as most taxis will not come into this location.

(5) Clientele - the hotel has a lot of government guests (civil servants, police, army etc). You can tell because they are in uniform and it seems many government bureaucrats patronize this hotel.

(6) Decor - as I am an engineer, I find the layout of the hotel and the rooms and toilets odd until i realize that the hotel was probably an office building before. Nothing wrong with this but it makes the room oddly shaped and in most cases the rooms are large which is a positive.

But this is not a complain - I would still come back to this hotel as it is reasonably priced, quiet, and I only use it to shower and sleep.

Room Tip: Pick a north-east facing room if you want a view of the Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower and even poss...

Stayed here for 1 night, location is convenient with the LRT & bus stop just opposite the road. The area is surrounded by offices, thus this would be a good budget 3 star hotel for a short stay.

The room is spacious and basic, the service is tolerable but could improve. Don't expect very attentive staffs, but they try to help as much as they could.

Breakfast was good, a wide spread of buffet and tasted good too. Dinner could be better.

No swimming pool.

Dear Maria D,

Thank you for your feedback.

We have since emailed you clarifying that it wasn't an overcharge but a a credit card authorization amount which was on hold for the duration of your stay that was later released back to your card.

Nevertheless, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

The car park part was a bit confusing. If you are a hotel guest, get your ticket from the big machine beside the autopass one and keep the ticket. Before you leave the hotel in your car, get it stamped from the front desk. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is a quiet hotel, don't really see much people. The breakfast is just nice with an equal amount of local food and international buffet. The room was clean and the bathroom was a little compact. The shower was great with a huge shower head that's fixed to the wall. There's also a smaller normal shower. The mini fridge had a couple of drinks and kit-kat. It's replenished everyday, so make sure you eat/drink them. There was a couple of bath robes, slippers, safe, ironing board and an iron.

Room Tip: The rooms on the higher floor are quiet with a great view.
