“A Lovely Experience.”

I had my dinner buffet at Eastin Petaling Jaya's Swez Brasserie with some friends. Very nice ambiance and environment. Although the range of food was small, but the quality was the best. Spinach soup with sweet bread was my favorite for starter. I highly recommend any kind of pasta, roasted duck with apple sauce, tortilla and their sate. Those were amazing. For desserts, I didn't have any cakes/pies as I was so into the apple crumble. It was to die for, really. Eastin has revamped its overall look. The new Eastin is more sophisticated, young and modern. One of their lovely staffs gave us a little tour around the hotel. The pool looked amazing at night, though quite small in size. I will definitely go again, as its Eyuzu Japanese Cuisine looks so tempting. I look forward to try their range of sushi and teppanyaki. Ee Chinese Cuisine has a touch of both traditional and modern Chinese values. A very nice place for family gatherings and get-together. All in all, the place was so beautiful and serene. You just have to experience it yourself. Oh, I did not spend a night in the hotel as I was just there for the dinner buffet. But from the look of its other places and facilities, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I have not much experience dining in a Japanese buffet before. But Eyuzu really gave me a very good impression for Japanese Food. The 100% Japanese decoration and attire of the waitress really made you feel you have arrived in Tokyo. And half of the guest there are Japanese and their chit chat have confuse us whether we still in Malaysia.

The varieties of foods really give me a surprise, although I am not a big fan of a Japanese food, but I do have a good time eating there. They also provide a special cook sup serve in a tea pot that is really new to me.

Overall Eyuzu is a pleasure place to dine. However I do suggest them to consider to lower the price.

The dinner that was extensively prepared buffet by the team of dedicated chef was extremely satisfying! The set of buffet offers a wide stretch of wholesome goodness. At this point of time , the greediness took the best part of me. All the food look equally enticing and luring me to devour on them.
Apart from the exquisite main courses, the dessert especially, was super awesome! There were varieties sort of cakes, traditional kuih , bubur , caramel banana (A MUST TRY!) and the usual tropical fruit to name a few. After tasting almost most of the food , I must say that Swez Brassiere has gotten way way way better from its former day. It was a beguiling gastronomic experience to conclude the night.

I stay here very frequently as the hotel is quite near my office in Damansara. It is centrally located near the Petaling Jaya suburb of Kuala Lumpur. It has poor access to any metro/LRT so unless you have your own transport, this will not be easy to have access to. It costs about RM28 by taxi from the Subang Airport to the Eastin Hotel. Thus it is better suited for the business traveller who has office in Shah Alam/Damansara rather than the holidaying group who would rather stay in Kuala Lumpur town and do their shopping and sightseeing in KL. There is a petrol station on the opposite side of the highway with access to groceries and Dunkin Donuts.

Plus
+ Daily shuttles to nearby shopping malls 1Utama and the Curve
+ Fantastic Japanese restaurant Eyuzu
+ Located at midpoint with easy access to 1Utama, Curve, MidValley
+ Friendly service

Minus
- Walls are very thin, can easily hear water noises or door slams
- Leaving bathtub near the wall area (common problem in the many rooms that I have stayed in)

I had tough time staying in this hotel. The rooms (Executive) are not at all upto 5* standards. Poor lighting, poor coordination between Sales & Reservation teams, Average food & ambience.

I stayed at the Eastin because it was the venue of a conference I was attending. I found the hotel to be as I expected in most Malaysia hotels. The reception was quite good, with friendly staff and late check-out services (with a small charge). The room was spacious, but somewhat dusty and the curtains and ceilings could do with a bit of makeover.
The hotel is a bit out of the way from major shopping complexes, so I had to use the shuttle service provided, and call a taxi when I wanted to wander about the city. However, the shuttle was prompt and comfortable. Wish I could say the concierge and doormen where nice and knowledgeable, but not all of them were.
However, room service was efficient and quite good, and the food at the buffet lunch was reasonably good.
Overall, this would be a good hotel for anyone on a business trip to the PJ area, but not quite as suitable for those looking to hit the town.
