Been here twice. Rooms ok though most don't have windows. First time I stayed here, breakfast was pretty good with the restaurant next door catering the food. A few months after, the breakfast has reduced to just coffee, tea and toast.

WiFi is ok though some rooms are out of range.

Good for few days in town.

Price is pretty reasonable for a queen size bed with cable tv (only few channels thou), location is at uptown damansara. So it is pretty easy to grab something to eat around the area. Even beside the hotel it has a cafe (Kaffa) where you can grab a nice coffee and in case you are hungry, it has a selection of food for you to grab.

Ryokan Chic is a great place to stay for a few nights if you do not want to pay too much (we booked in advance and thus got an early bird price), yet would like a room with adequate facility, and clean, modern look/vibe. Room is not big (as expected) but can comfortably fit two of us without trouble. Hotel is located at a fairly central location, Short walk (10 mins) to Tropicana shopping centre and short drive to One U shopping centre. However as it is a small and relatively new hotel (therefore not known by many taxi drivers), noting down the hotel address is a must if you do travel by taxis back to the hotel. Breakfast was included which was great. Choices of breakfast were not as varied as major hotels, but this is only a B&B - and I certainly did not even expect to be provided with breakfast, let alone a few breakfast choices (tuna sandwiches, cereal, biscuits, etc.). Also from my memory, you can eat as much as you want. The main downside is that sleeping was a little difficult (esp. late at night), as several people would stomp on the floor while walking up/down the staircase, instead of walking quietly knowing that it was already 12am. We did however suggest the hotel manager to prevent that from happening again by putting up signs at lobby, or perhaps carpet the floor.

Overall I believe Ryokan Chic is a budget accommodation of a great value. We will go back again :)

Room Tip: We stayed in The Duke & Duchess. Request queit room if you want good sleep (who doesn't?). B...

we had a room for 3 adults. rooms is big enough and bathroom in good size too. but we found the bathroom light is bit too dark, maybe because it painted in black colour and only 1 light in it.
No lift so you have to walk up with your luggage. If you are driving there and you happens to stay during weekday then be prepared enough patient to find a parking lot.
Location is great as in the center of Uptown Damansara. Lots of eateries around the area.
Overall, worth to stay.

Room Tip: choose a room facing the back street, more quiet

Few points: -

1) Sewer odor in bathroom (no matter how hard we tried to clean the bathroom - major issue!)
2) Indifferent and unfriendly male receptionist
3) Inexperienced housekeeping who mistakenly left floor mats in the bathroom room, and we had to use it as we checked in after midnight (she thought the floor mats = towels)

Will not come back here again.

Just been there for a couple of nights for a visit to the nearby hospital Optical in TTDI area. The location is not convenient if you like to stay near city center. Very difficult for my taxi driver to find the place. Standard level of cleanliness. Only 5 channel on they flat LCD TV. The breakfast included in the price was very bad (only choice between coffee and tea, some boiled eggs and very poor. The waitress didn't speak any word in English. Definitively I would not come there for a second time and for the same price you can have much better around bukit Bintang (city center).

really really love this hotel! Highly recommended to all travelers to damansara uptown area. Now where do I start???

1. Friendly happy staff
Overall, service was good and we were greeted by happy and warm welcoming staff! They were efficient to our needs as well and try to solve problems or issues as fast as possible.

2. Hotel interior is fantastic
For a budget hotel the hotel room layout was mind blown. The room is huge with a really big bed and flat TV screens. The bathroom was chic as well and very clean. I am really happy with the chic design and comfort of my hotel room. Besides that, on the staircase leading up to the rooms, the walls are decorated with chic wall art wic give a modern welcoming feel.

3. Surrounded by great shops and restaurants.
If you are famished in the hotel, never fear as there are many restaurants around with great food! I really love the La Kaffa café just downstairs of the hotel that serves great coffee and breakkie/lunch sets! Cheaper foods can be found in hawker or hokkien mee stall etc. Shopping convenience can be found in the market as well :)

Overall a really pleasant stay and thanks to the hotel management and staff! :)
