Nothing much has change, some park is under maintenance. A lot of rides looks outdated, price still expensive, food is expensive. Not worth it.

First off let me start by telling the date I visited Sunway Lagoon, which was 30th august 2019 (friday).

I was abit worried to go on this date, due to the weather forecast saying that it would rain, and when it rains some of the rides gets closed at sunway (so make sure, try to avoid rainy seasons). So my girlfriend and i gambled and went ahead with the plan, and thank god it didnt rain.

Now lets talk about price. Im a malaysian and so is my girlfriend, so the prices for our ticket was rm 138 (walk in price) its rm5 cheaper if u book online. Fortunately my girlfriend is a student at sunway university, and they have a free 6 month pass entrance. So only my ticket was needed to purchase, which saved us a lot of money.

Ok this is the important part, we decided to get QUACKXPRESS Rm80 (please do get it). Getting this was the best choice we made. We arrived there at 10 and after purchasing the quackxpress pass we saw that not many people were that yet and we taut we wasted rm80 for the quackxpress, but an hour later the park was getting crazy pack. This was where our quackxpress bracelet came in handy.

Now lets talk about the rides in specific. At first i was kinda hesitant to go due to the price, but dun worry its TOTALLY WORTH IT, we went for all the rides for a total of 50 times. We did vuvuzela (the best ride there i feel) for 9 times due to quackxpress pass, while others who didnt have the pass que for almost an hour. Monsoon 360 is also really fun

The water park is very hectic during noon time
Amusement park and lost lagoon is not that crowded. In conclusion what i can say is, if u are planning to go and not to sure if it will be worth it or not, trust me, it will definitely be worth it (if u get quackxpress)

Also locker/ dressing room is all available there
Small locker is rm25 and it can fit 2 small bags easily

Make sure to check if there is any ride closure on the day u are going.

Their map is kinda confusing, here i edited it and made it more easier for u all to understand it. Follow the colour coding

Sunway Lagoon is conveniently located next to Sunway Pyramid and its associated hotels. The park is broken into six sub-parks and we tried four of them. We didn’t try anything at the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon section because we didn’t have children or the Extreme Park because the queues were a little too long.

We started out with the Amusement Park where we were able to try the Lost City of Gold scream coaster which was a fairly moderate roller coaster ride and the very tame Wagon Wheel (ferris wheel) ride. In the Lynton V Harris’ Scream Park, we experienced the Horrorwood Studios Zombie Apocalypse which was a mixture of film and live actors in an updated haunted house with a zombie laboratory theme. Some of the models from horror movies were very good. This has set times and we queued for the 11am session. I thought the ushers were a little officious in their crowd control asking people repeatedly to get away from the queue guide ropes though it was never directed at us.

In the Wildlife Park we were in time for the encounters starting at 1pm but they were crowded and didn’t seem to add much to the experience, so we ended up walking ahead and seeing the various animals by ourselves. I thought some of the animals in the enclosures were a little sad. The were some colourful birds that looked happier.

The suspension bridge which is considered part of the Amusement Park stretches out over the water park surf beach was good. I liked the views. The water park itself had several water rides and a surf beach. The issue with many of the water rides is they required two people to go down together so it’s a bit hard for a single person. My husband missed out on a few rides and teamed up with some other singletons for others. We then spent the rest of the time at the surf beach wading and watching (from quite a far way away) a show with dancing against a movie backdrop before the volcano erupted and the surf began.

Without children, one day at Sunway lagoon was enough for us as it is (quite rightly) skewed towards families with children or young adults. If we had come with children, I could see us spending a couple of days here. If you were a local university student, it would be worthwhile getting an annual pass so that you could come again and slowly see the various attractions while spending the majority of the time in the water park area.
