Nice resort wih hotel part composed of several chalets (6-8 rooms) and restaurants (Chinese, Italian, Malay/Continental), a convention area, a leisure part (spa, tennis, small gym) with serviced houses.

It used to be the best hotel in Malaysia when the federal administration moved to nearby Putrajaya. Photo in the lobby of political events with photos of foreign ministers and US secretary of state.

The hotel has a limited number of rooms around a long pool with waterfalls. Hence, it is quickly fully booked there is a convention nearby. Rooms can be a bit far from the hotel reception.
Beware of the neighboring train line and highway.

Room Tip: Superior rooms are much bigger and have a small kitchen area

I went for a spa experience at Sembunyi Spa at Cyberview Lodge and Resort.

It's located about 2 minutes walk away from the main reception area, facing a small lake. The place had a serene and quiet ambience, and service was good.

The reception lady will take down your details and ask for your preference of aromatherapy oil, and then guide you to the changing room area.

Once you're there, she will leave you alone for you to enjoy the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna room.

After that, the therapist brought me to the massage room, where I was pampered with an hour of massage followed by facial. The experience was absolutely calming especially when you have nice music playing at the background.

Overall experience was definitely good, and I would come back for a second visit.

Stayed 2 nights here in a Deluxe Chalet.

Check in was brief and hassle free. We were allowed to park closer to our chalet but parking spaces were quite limited. You can opt to take a buggy ride from the main lobby area.

The best part about the place if you ask me? The room. It was extremely spacious and very well appointed. Very warm and relaxing. Its got everything you need for a great getaway. Welcome fruit basket was also awesome.

The whole area is carefully maintained with beautifully landscaped gardens all around. There's a beautiful pool located at the center of the resort for both adults and children. Shuttles are provided at certain times of the day if you need to get to town.

Buffet breakfast - so-so (5/10). Italian restaurant dinner - yummy (8/10). Drinks at bar - good ambiance (8/10).

If I was asked for one tip on how to improve this establishment, I would say.. Please invest in your staffs. Other than that, this is a no doubt a nice place to getaway for a couple of days.

We stayed at the resort for 3 nights. We stayed in a room a long way from the reception area. The room we stayed in was right next to the lake which we did not realise was teeming with mosquitoes. So the first night we did not sleep much, with mosquito buzzing and biting all night long (we later found a can of bug spray and a mosquito coil). The kitchen smelt musty and wet and it was only after phoning reception that we worked out how to get hot water.

The main reason we chose to stay at Cyberview Resort was to experience the spa facilities. I had made a booking for 2 people for a 3 hour treatment back in July 2012. I emailed the hotel a few weeks prior to arriving to confirm the booking and was disappointingly informed that the spa was being renovated and that the booked treatment was cancelled. If I had not emailed the hotel to confirm the booking, I would not have known about the cancellation. As it was too late to find alternative accommodation, we decided to stay and booked the alternative massage treatments. When we arrived for our treatments on the Monday we were informed that we would have to come back in 1 hour as someone more important was receiving a treatment at the time we had prior booked. At this stage we were getting quite angry. Although the treatment was nice and at a discounted rate, they were only performed in one of the suites and the relaxing sense was missing. We were very disappointed.

The resort had hardly anyone staying and we dined most of the time by ourselves. If eating at the restaurant we advise that you check the chilli content of the dishes as they are quite hot (even fried rice).

The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of fresh foods to choose from.

The resort supplies a free shuttle bus to the local shopping centre which is very handy.

One annoying thing was the fact that the resort at check in time takes more money from your credit card than is actually charged at the end of the stay.

Overall, an ok stay.

Room Tip: Ask not to be beside the lake.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip to CyberJaya. The hotel has a nice resort feel to it, spacious rooms built in a chalet style. Only issue is the rooms are not linked to each other, so it's a bit of a hassle to walk from the lobby to the room when it rains as there is no cover from block to block. Otherwise, service and efficiency was great and overall a pleasant stay.

Staying here for 2 nights after a company meeting for 4 days plus a 2 days shopping in KL before heading home.

In a nut shell, the resort itself is very relaxing place and made the right choice to stay here. Check in was a breeze and was send to the room by a buggy. The room is huge with a four poster bed and wooden flooring. It has a big verandah, but I dont find it too having much privacy as u can actually see the next door's varendah as well. The bathroom has a shower compartment and they give the most wonderful sets of amities. The bath, shampoo and conditional smells heavenly! It also has a little pantry with a big fridge and sink.

The resort compound is covered with lush greens with 2 wading pool and a main one. There is a few restaurants, one that serves various type of cuisnes, one italian restaurant and chinese restaurant. The breakfast spread is not too bad as well....

We had a message and it was very good as well. The current Sembunyi Spa is closed for renovation, but they had moved it to the other rooms.

The only complain that I have is a there is a lot of little ants in the room and I wish they will put a fan in the room as it would be nice have a fan in the room.

Overall, a 15 year old property which is still at its very best.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

We only stayed here a night (for a friend’s wedding) but it was pleasant enough. It’s a Malaysian-standard hotel, which means scruffy & ill-kempt (in parts) and with diffident, English-challenged service – but if you take all that into account – along with the fact that you’re basically on a tiny parcel of artificially-beautified land amidst roads and tech-parks, a long way from anywhere – it’s actually quite nice. I was impressed by our room – spacious, well-appointed, with a great view over the pool. Great place to sit & read a book. Room itself was quite clean. There was no obvious scruffiness, which was surprising (and welcome). Have paid far more in Malaysia for far worse.

Service was of course patchy, with (dis)honorable mention needing to be made of Housekeeping, who failed to understand my (delivered with a smile, while pointing at the actual offending mess – i.e. clear, reasonable, and polite) request to remove another guest’s dirty plate from outside my room. It was still there when I got back some hours later. Made for a great Frisbee.

Stay at this place if your expectations are clear – CyberJaya is in middle of nowhere, Malaysian service is generally patchy, English is a struggle, things may be dirty & scruffy – or if (like us) you are there for a reason. And then relax, open a book, and simply enjoy the place. If another friend got married there, I’d gladly go back (though paying only the heavily-discounted Internet rate, NOT the hotel’s over-ambitious rack-rate). I would never use it as a base to explore KL, or have a ‘tropical experience’ holiday. Totally unsuitable for either.
