Cafe overlooking sea. Room is big with balcony also looking out to sea, though partially covered by trees. Treehouse is indeed a lovely experience.. Esp for those who loves nature, peace and quiet. Half an hours drive to Kuching city and about 10-15 minutes drive to Buntal Seafood eating places.

Beautiful rainforest as back drop, our treehouse is close to the ocean! We listen to the waves at night, it was great experiences. We walked the track up to the waterfall at the back of the hotel, it was great fun crossing rivers and climbing up!
Though the room is really minimum - no toilletry, old towers, the facility really needs some maintenance done. Don't expect any service when you come here, afterall, all you need is the beautiful view and a treehouse!

We booked for one of the tree houses. When we arrived in the late evening the room had not been made up and was still in the condition the previous people had left it. Room is small but ok, with balcony. Bathroom is very basic.

Stayed in treehouse during may at end of 2 week holiday in Sarawak. Great to see the monkeys and squirrels in the trees outside from your deck. We were there over a long weekend so very busy with day trippers. Food was ok - basic and plentiful. Staff were happy for you to join in their board games. Went on the evening wildlife tour - saw probiscus monkeys/ macquaks/fireflies and crocodile eyes. Did the jungle walk - rather strenuous for a family walk. Enjoyed floating in the south china sea at 2nd beach with a cold can in 1 hand.

Stayed at Permai for 2 nights wt our 3 kids last week.
On the 2nd day we went to the beach to kayak & left a bag of belongings with the 2 guys who were in charge at the boathouse. We stayed at the beach till 7pm and on our return the boathouse was closed and nobody there. The next day when we went to get our bag, the boathouse staff informed us that they finished their work at 5.30 & had left the bag on the table - which is outside! We dont believe them. We asked why they didnt come and tell us that they were leaving as we were just in front of them on the beach, or bring us the bag, or put it away for safekeeping, or take it to reception. But they just shrugged & couldnt answer us!
We asked to speak to the manager, and waited for more than 1 hour for him to come. As we were checking out, we felt that they were hoping that we would just leave. It was only when my husband said that he wanted to call the police that the manager arrived. He wasnt of any help either! My husband informed him that we were staying in the resort next door (Damai) for the next 2 nights & would allow him 1 day to return our bag before calling the police. The manager promised he would call us & keep us informed of his "investigation". He never did!

So, we never did get anything back & have never heard from anybody at Permai! The rest of our holiday was ruined by this event, and we all have a really bad memory of this holiday.

Needless to say we will never set foot in the place again & certainly dont recommend it to anybody!
We find this lack of respect for your clients absolutely unacceptable.

I booked a tree-house for one night as an extension of a Kuching business trip. Treehouse was fantastic - clean and well-maintained - much higher standard than other jungle resorts I have visited in Malaysia. Service super friendly and food ok. I didn't do much, but just enjoyed the atmosphere. Quiet, beautiful and an ok beach. I will definitely be back and may even upgrade the rating to 5 stars, depending on the quality of the wildlife experience.
