Well, as what i said... it's just a chinese temple... nothing historical i seen there... as it claim as the oldest Tua Pek Kong Temple.. but barely 1o min and i am done...

You can either visit it or just miss it.... nothing much special

Mum and I were there but sadly, the temple was being renovated and repainted for preservation purpose. Hence, we could only immerse in its view from the outer compound. Nevertheless, the temple held its own beauty and history. Wish I could explore the temple more when i'm in Kuching again =)

As the previous reviews say - for us, Europeans, a visit was interesting. Watching people come and pray, reading a bit about the temple from the guide. Kind of trying to catch a glimpse of different religion, so different from ours. We liked the architecture.

Not blasphemous but there is nothing special. Being ethnic chinese myself, Tua Pek Kong temple is often used by devotees for eccentric and unrealistic wishes like winning 4D, gambling and stuffs. I guess there is no exception for this. But i liked the culture and its architecture, don't really know its history i walked and pass by along carpenter street went in and even donated money when i saw they were doing some fund raising event. It will be good for western individuals to have a look at it, and if they were to check out with the devotees what they prayed for, they did be pretty surprised. :D
