“OK for a quick visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

It's small, describes the different Chinese ethnic groups that have arrived over the years, and what trades/way-of-life they are associated with. Not much is lost by skipping the "important political figures" at the beginning. Like all museums here, its free

It is on the waterfront at the top of Main Bazaar, and worth a dive into, especially if you are hot.

“Small but comprehensive and interesting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

As a chinese descendant, I highly recommend this place as it is well maintained and the exhibits are detailed and easy to understand.I love the section where they introduced sarawak chinese origins and their dialects. Look for a little button at the board and press it to listen to different dialects of chinese. I find it very interesting ^_^

“Fascinating Flashback of the Kuching Chinese”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

Worth a visit. It can be as short as a 15 minutes' visit or a long one hour plus detailed tour around the well maintained museum. Every audio presentation of the different Chinese dialects worked perfectly. Personally, I was very impressed with the museum with short but precise notes of the community contribution to Kuching. Entrance is free of charge.

“Insight into the role of the Chinese community in Kuching”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

I really enjoyed my visit to this museum. Like other reviewers I thought the explanation of how the Chinese came to Sarawak and their different roles in the community was very well done. I enjoyed the big wall map of present day Kuching which marks Chinese businesses. It was fun to walk down Carpenter Street and realise that many of the shops are run by Chinese.
