“Worth a visit”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

We went to the old part of the museum and while downstairs was full of very old and dusty stuffed animals it did give an indication of the variety of wildlife. Upstairs was a good exhibition of a longhouse and some history of Borneo in general. We also went over the road via the bridge to the museum where there was a ceramic display - worthwhile. There was also an excellent small shop near the entrance to the ceramics where we had lunch and also bought some lovely silk scarves and beads.

“Museum Visit”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

The old museum was a great place with animals and also a full sized replica of a long house. The new museum over the road had the best coffee and cup cakes. Both were free

“A very good museum and very interesting”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

I am not a museum fan but this one was very good and very interesting. It charted the history of Borneo in a very modern and easy to view setting. It is air conditioned and in my view as good as any other museum in the world. Despite being small it is very informative. Well worth a visit. Take time to have a coffee int he coffee shop.

“Something to do in the rain”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

This museum is rather over-rated, and the art museum and the natural history museum were both closed when we visited.
