I visited the village along with 6 friends. It was really interesting to learn about the differing cultures in Sarawak and the way people lived. It was also fun trying to use the blow pipe.
We really enjoyed the cultural show which had dancing and also a certain hint of comedy towards the end. Well worth visiting.

Chinese group/dance/presentation was missing from the 45 minutes stage show!
The various ethnic houses to walk through are OK though the food they are selling are more interesting.

I really enjoyed visiting here - beautiful scenary, self paced and barely any tourists around (benefit of off season and non weekend). The cultural show is a bit kitsch when they sing the 'Malaysia truely Asia' advertisement and get everyone up to dance at the end - though many of the tourists seemed to enjoy it! Tip - go first thing in the morning when it is still cool. The walk between each of the houses is not under cover and it gets warm.

Sarawak Cultural Village is a must see in Kuching! It's about a 40 minute drive outside the city but is an important place to learn about the local tribes in Sarawak. You learn everything from local food preparation to the different styles of dances that the tribes practiced. There were blow dart demonstrations and several longhouses to enter and explore. Go with a good guide who can explain everything for you because there is so much to see.

So glad we took the time to come here. We enjoyed learning more about the various tribes and how they lived. We came with a local guide who was able to explain the differences between the styles of longhouses and how the tribes lived and related to each other. The show of local dancing and music topped off the visit. It was well worth the effort to spend the morning here.
