We visited our family in Kuching and stayed 4 nights. The apartments are fully ready for a pleasant stay with the official opening coming up on 23rd Oct 2013. We stayed in a 1 bedroom serviced apartment which is very spacious and well designed. The bedroom and living area are of very good size for my son to run around safely. It is very new and modern with full kitchen which is very useful for family with young kids. The hotel has a nice swimming pool. Carparks are ample. The mall downstairs is not well occupied but has a well stocked SmartPlus shopping mart which carries everything you will need as a human! Superconvenient. Citadines is right opposite the best mall in Kuching called Spring.
Behind the hotel is several rows of shophouses which have many good eateries and restaurant. We had a dinner at Spoon cafe which served both local and Western cuisine. Not Michelin food but very "sedap" (tasty in Malay).
The staffs at the lobby are very helpful and friendly.
The breakfast is a bit disappointed with limited choice of food. The corridor lighting is slightly dark.
Apart from that, it was an excellent stay and we would certain be back again.

I have 3 days meeting in Kuching with my husband and this is the perfect hotel for us. The hotel is new, very convenient location, opposite is The Spring Shopping Mall and next to it are shop lots with different cafes and restaurants.

The Apartment & Hotel is above ST 3 Shopping Centre, the shopping mall is quite empty, not much things, but there is a ramen restaurant (quite a lot of people) and a mini market at the ground floor which is very convenient. Besides that you can just cross a road to The Spring Shopping Mall which you can find everything there.

We staying in the studio that provide everything you need, the room has kitchenette with whole range of cooking utensils, basically you can have light cooking anytime which is very convenient for us, we don't need to go out for supper and relax in the room. They even have charger for iphone and ipod. The service of the hotel is efficient, whenever we call for the service, they will be at your door step in 5 minutes.

They also have apartment with 1 bed room or 2 bed rooms, I have viewed the apartment, it is very good for family or group traveling. During their promotion period, the price consider cheap with this kind of hotel and apartment.

The thing that need to improve is the breakfast, limited of breakfast which is out of my expectation from the Management of Ascott, the breakfast area very few tables, I can foresee if during peak season you might not able to have your breakfast. According to my friend, this is their temporary cafe, which I hope the breakfast can have a big change. But if you don't mind, just walk over to the shop lots next to the hotel, you can find local food there which is not expensive.

Went on a business trip recently, took my chances and book into Citadines, Kuching. The hotel is nice, quiet, clean and safe.

As a female business traveller, life can get quite lonely but Citadines made it very bearable with all the necessary amenities where I can cook and prepare my own dinner at night instead having the need to venture out alone.

Wish there is a Citadines in Kota Kinabalu too :)

I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I stayed on the 10th floor and it is very quite with a view of the city.

We stayed in 2-room premier unit. Clean, adequately equipped kitchen, well designed interior, cozy beds, nice shower. Most importantly the staff are friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is the lousy breakfast.

My husband, 2 teenager children and I went to Kuching over the long 8-11 August 2013 weekend for a short break. We chose to stay at the Citadines because we wanted to cook. We booked the apartment online. It is located 15 minutes from airport. It is within walking distance (3 minutes' walk) to the Spring shopping centre and has many eateries nearby not including the ones at the Spring. The Spoon café (1 minute walk) serves international and local food. There is a supermarket on the ground floor that sells everything you need for your stay. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve a good meal for 4 persons. For slightly more than RM350 per apartment per night (including master bedroom with toilet+bathtub, twins room, living/dining room, full kitchen, another toilet with standing shower), it is very good value. It is a short RM15 taxi ride to the waterfront and main bazaar. The taxi ride to airport is RM26. There are lots of taxi cabs outside the Spring waiting to take you anywhere. Please check the price before you board the taxi because they don't always go by the metre.

The breakfast is not great. It is better to eat at a nearby eatery or coffee shop.

The staff are quite friendly and helpful although they do not initiate a conversation.

Room Tip: The lobby is on the 2nd floor. Please do not expect concierge to greet you when you arrive or anyone...

I stayed in their 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights during my recent family trip. This is a new hotel and everything is new. The check in is smooth, except that we are unable to find the entrance initially as there is no clear signboard on the entrance. At this moment, the basement carpart is still not charging us for the parking fee, hence if you are travelling with your own car, you can safely park your car at the basement carpark. The room is of contemporary design, with full set kitchenette for us, but we do not have time to cook in the room though. Just oppposite of the hotel there is a large shopping mall called "The Spring", you can find a lot of eateries there. The swimming pool is not very clean though, and the water tasted very salty. The breakfast is just average, not having much choices as well. Despite that, we still think this hotel is worth for a return stay.

Our family of 2 adults and 3 teens were in Kuching in June for a short break. Travelling as a family, we always like to stay in vacation rentals or service apartments so we can share common space watching tv, chatting and snacking together. The Citadines offers service apartments and is new, clean and modern though the space is rahter compact. Nonetheless, everything a traveller needs is found in the apartment and anything else needed can be bought in the mid- sized supermart on the ground floor. Breakfast in very simple and we gave it a miss after the first day. Cafes offering much better variety are just round the corner and all food is so cheap and affordable in Kuching.
There is a brand new shopping mall just across the street. Loads of shops and food.
I would say the only downside is that it is a good 10-15min cab ride to go downtown. In Kuching, cabs have to be booked by phone and one cannot just hail a cab from the roadside. But this applies to anywhere you go in Kuching, not specific to staying in this spot. In any case, if you book excursions, the companies are happy to come pick you at no extra charge. We booked a day trip and spent a fabulous day kayaking down an 11km stretch of the Sarawak River. All in, it was a pleasant stay.
