“unique neighbourhood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

it started on a corner lot of a terrace house and over the years, the owner took over the whole lot of terrace house and turn it into a cozy restaurant.

luv their traditional dish such as Ayam Penyet. their location is adjacent to banks, shops and also other old shophouses.

“cozy breakfast and lunch experience :)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

we love coming here for late breakfasts: nasi lemak, roti, laksa, ayam penyet... we are foreigners from europe so we cant really judge the food (though we enjoyed everything we tried so far! except maybe the laska) but the green house cafe is so cute and the atmosphere is very cozy. its fun sitting here with friends and enjoying the food and refreshing drinks. the only thing we didnt like is the very slow service, even compared with other food places in kuching its outstandingly slow.. but i guess its part of the cozy atmosphere so thats ok :) also its sad that they run out of items on the menu quite early in the day..

“nice place to hang out...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

the food is OK, just ok. nothing to wow about. but the atmosphere is Great..! hanging out with friends and chilling out together, definitely comfortable and nice... quite and serene. Requested Menu might not be available as is normal with an in house cafe, operation such as this, in fact we didn't get our ayam penyet which is the popular dish here.

“Weird Mandy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2013

This place is well known for its Ayam Penyet, but I think its just OK. Nothing special really. The ambience is nice though, I tried their Mandy rice after the waitress reccommended it, and it was a shocking one. I have been eating a lot of mandy in my life. What an insult to the dish when its served with badly marinated, almost burnt piece of lambchop. barely meat there and the portion of rice is very sad indeed. I asked the waitress if that was really Mandy, and she proudly said so. I am not a fussy eater but they should not serve a dish which they are not mastered at. Mandy is actually a middle eastern type of boiled rice, mildly spiced, cook together with the meat. The flavour of the meat should be absorbed into the rice. It should not look like biryani rice whatsoever.
