“Few shops and food court”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

Walk around Damai Central, only a food court and a 7 Eleven. Try the chinese restaurant, great food and fast service. The food court little bit over price and food is average, it depend on what you order.

“Your 'local' while at Santubong”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

We stayed at Permai Rainforest Resort but this is the central hub of tourist needs. Other than the ATM not accepting most Western bank cards it's got most of your basic needs covered and it's very easy to walk to. There is a decent 7/11 with all the 100+ you could ever need. 100+ is the best electrolyte drink you will find worldwide. And you will need those electrolytes! It is low calorie but not artificially sweetened and has a grapefruit citrus flavour that is carbonated! Yes, a carbonated electrolyte drink! Magic in 35 degree heat for the unacclimatised. You can get beer and wine at Damai Central as well as some souvenirs. But the standout of the centre is the food court. The roti are divine, the drinks fruity, and plenty of choice for mains. Just note that Monday night is many stall holders night off so there is less choice. Kids loved this place. Easy walk from Permai where we stayed.

“Life Saver to get cheaper drinks and snacks in Damai”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

If you are staying at any of the resorts nearby, Damai Central is a good place for you to get cheaper mineral water and snacks outside of the resort. Food at the food court is reasonably priced, but mostly malay food.

“Not much here..”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

There isn't much at Damai central for tourists; a couple of restaurants, a food court, a 7-11, and a few shops. We had a meal each day at the food court, great options for inexpensive and tasty local food (but not the place to go if you want hamburgers) - this is the place to go if you're on a budget. Escobar's restaurant was great - a highlight of my trip. The 7-11 is the only place to buy snacks and toiletries outside of a hotel gift shop.
