“Wonderfull especially the personal/family touch!”

Really nice tour! Around 9 o clock Marlin and his dad picked us up from our hostel in Kuching. After one hour traveling an talking, we arrived at a small village where the canoes where located. After some explanation we left the cute village to canoe on the river. Exciting! The water was really calm but the quitness gave us more possibility to enjoy the beautiful sound of the jungle (dont forget to sit down and relax sometimes during the padling). Marlin grew up in the area and knows everything of the jungle there. Kayaking is his hobby and from that he decided to start a adventure tour company. He has a lot of family that live in the villages passing by during the trip. we even crossed his uncle when paddling on the river and stopped at his aunt and uncle house in the Danu village. First we stopped at a waterfall and had a great refreshing shower. Marlin had a waterproof camera and took a lot of pictures. Later we stopped at the Danu village and had a great traditional lunch that was prepared by Marlins dad. We walked around the village and Marlin gave us much information about the plants and fruits that were growing there. After that we swum in the river and went paddling to the small cave. The last stop was located close to a big rock where we could fed thousands of fish. We really liked the personal touch of the whole trip and could feel the love for the surrounding en the kayaking. It was a great experience!

“Amazing! Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013

I went on this tour with my boyfriend and kayakking down the Semadang River was amazing. McKenzie was our guide for the day and we had plenty of fun together. The view was beautiful, definitely something you can't see in the city everyday. Personal touches were added to our tour - my boyfriend and I got to body raft, we visited Kura-kura Homestay, etc (note that these things are extra additions to the already existing agenda of visiting the mini waterfall, etc. with no extra charges). We got to experience the best of both worlds when we got to kayak in the rain for the second half of our journey. It was definitely something unexpected, but not something unwelcomed as the weather was cooling. Oh, the provided home-cooked food was simply delicious. Paku and ayam pansuh with several other delicacies, YUMMY.

“Great family fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

This is a great way to spend a relaxed day on the Semadang River, enjoying the natural scenery, crystal clear water, local village food, and the company of the very friendly and experienced guides, McQuin and Jeffrey. My favorite part were the incredible shapes the rocks have been carved into by the river - amazing ripple patterns, overhanging ledges, and frozen waves. The mini-waterfall was fun and refreshing. We were there during the dry season so the boats had to be pulled across the gravel a few times but no big deal. The kids had a great time and the little one, who is often quite shy, was having water fights with Jeffrey halfway through the trip - a real accomplishment!

“A Must Go!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

We did kayaking which was a wonderful experience. From the clean waters to the excellent scenery the whole way through. Lunch was very well prepared by our ever so friendly & helpful tour guide's mom. Also loving the little activities that we get to do besides kayaking. The only downside for me was that the water was too shallow at the time when I kayaked. Aside from that, everything was perfectly good & is a most recommended fun time with friends & families!

Just got back from an amazing trip with semadang. Mckenzie was a fantastic tour guide and the company was run by the most friendly people. The river we kayaked down was beautiful from limestone casts and forest to cute malaysian kids playing in the water. I cant recommend this trip enough! So glad we went with semadang :)

Thanks guys

Lucy and mark

ps: the lunch was very tasty :)
