5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2012

I would recommend anyone going to Kuching to visit this place...packed with friendly and helpful staff, delicious and affordable food and owner Franky who really takes care for your perfect visit in that beautiful city of Borneo.
We will definitely come back to have a great time, refreshing juices and good party :)))
Thanks and see you soon again

The Nook B&B is lovely... cheap, cosy, great food and right in the heart of Kuching. Frankie, the owner, is so friendly and goes out of her way to help travellers get the most out of their stay in Kuching. I definitely recommend this place,

This is a B&B like any others in its business nature, however, what i was totally amazed and grateful was the knowledge of nature attractions outskirt of Kuching that aren't listed in LonelyPlanet and the generosity to offer group visit to these places from Franky, owner of Nook.

One of my highlights was the bicycle ride among a group of backpackers organized by Nook in a cool, fresh drizzly morning from a resort to the Gunung Gading National Park, Lundu - freaking awesome experience seeing lush padi fields, tropical trees and rural lifestyle in Lundu area. Even though we didn't manage to explore Gunung Gading National Park due to heavy rain, a few months later, i stayed 2 nights in there, hiked to the summit of Gading, saw wildlife and magnificent tropical trees, swam in the natural pools and waterfall #7, gazed at stars - it was just unforgettable!

I can't think of anything bad to say about Nook Cafe B&B in Kuching. Franky is the owner and she's very personable, kind and goes out of her way to assist with whatever needs you have.

The food is fantastic at the cafe and quite reasonable. The accommodation options are a dorm, single and double room, with central air upstairs and fans. Sleeping is comfortable and I particularly like the common room upstairs with the balcony overlooking the street.

The location is ideal, centrally located, near the riverfront, shops and Chinatown. Located about 30mina from the airport and Semenggoh Orangutan Reserve and Bako National Park are easy to get to from Nook B&B.

You won't regret it, a great choice.

We stayed here for a couple of nights after hearing about the B&B from the cafe below.

Its small and compact but so quirky and homely! Its lovely really. There are only a few 'private' rooms and a couple of shared rooms but they all looked clean and tidy. It was not busy at all when we were staying so no problems with the sharing bathrooms/showers. Bathroom and showers were immaculate and clean and looked new. Actually, looked new to the point that it was better than my own bathroom in my home!

There is a very small communal area with 2 armchairs, TV that didnt really work and a little balcony. Again, very cosy and cute. If its booked to full capacity this may have been a problem though.

Rooms are more like 'open planned office' style! So its just a big room upstairs and sections have been partitioned off with sliding doors and I suppose you can say side panels (no ceiling) - I think that makes sense?! Its still private but you can hear everyone and everything. Wasn't a problem for me.

Staff are very nice and friendly. Food in the cafe is really good as is the coffee.... breakfast is included and surprisingly is good (not stale bread and make yr own toast!). Consisted of boiled egg, toast, fruit and tea/coffee.

Would stay here again. Its cheap!
