“An interesting cave”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

You definitely need a torch and decent shoes but even the main chamber which is lit by daylight is amazing to view. Some of the steps and walkways needs a little TLC so watch out for missing steps and slippery bits but well worth the half day trip to visit Fairy and Wind Caves. The new stairs at the entrance make it easier to enter compared with the old stairs against the rock face.

Wind Cave is better maintained by Sarawak Forestry with some really good interp signage throughout (and also correct) and lots of animals to see, including several bat species, swiftlets, frogs, lizards and sometimes snakes.

On our way back our driver took us to the local market at Bau and also to see the blue lake there, which is left over form old gold mining in the area. A very interesting day all up.

“Fairy Caves, Kuching”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2012

Nothing spectuclar except lots and lots of climbing and remember to bring your torchlight. This cave(or caves ) are natural formation with some statacities and there is a rock that looks/resembles Guan Yin - the chinese goddess of mercy according to local legends. Remember to bring torchlights!

“Dirty and dark”

The cave looks very neglected. Need to clean the footpath leading to the caves and add more lightnings to encourage more visitors.

The caves are dark after the entrance but need a stong totch. Really interesting and you can go a long way into them. Interesting animals living there. The rocks were interesting.
Some high steps and coiuld be a little slippery need to wear good shoes.
