“yummehhhh”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

was suddenly craving for naan and we chanced upon Lyn's on google considering there were not that many indian restaurants in Kuching. Had chicken tandoori and naan at Bombay Spices (?) at Rubber Road and had massive diarrhea right after although the price was cheaper.
At Lyn's you gotta order the tandoor and naan separately as they do not come together unlike most places. Nevertheless outstanding indian food in Kuching. Could do something about the curry though. It's a little on the sweet side.

“Wonderful staff and food to math!”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We walked for over an hour looking for somewhere to eat in Kuching. We finally came across Lyn's Thandoori Restaurant.
The owner is adorabe and takes a real interest in your travels and experiences. He even helped us plan the rest of our trip in borneo!
The food was delicious too and it is a must go if you're in kuching!
Everyone was happy and inviting- the food came quickly and was fresh!
Absolutely stuff too- the portions are big!
All in all, if you're looking for a yummy meal, come to Lyn's and you won't be dissapointed. Hell- we came all the way from Canada! :)

Dear RMProud,

After having known John Diefenbaker, your Prime Minister for period 1957 to 1963, it was heartening to serve loving and energetic couple from Canada during a visit to our restaurant. I hope you have visited Sibu, Kapit, Belaga and had the opportunity to stay with one of the original people of Sarawak in Belaga.

If you taken our suggestion, you could have had the opportunity to visit Niah Caves, Mulu Caves, Kelabit Highlands (all accessible from Miri). Perhaps, you could also go to the Sultan's place, Brunei, Labuan and then to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah etc. finally jumping over to Manila in the Philippines.

I hope you enjoyed our food and hospitality and look forward to welcome you again during your next visit to our enchanting city, Kuching.

Thank you, Sir.

“Tasty But They Pad the Bill”
Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

You can get out of there for 43RM if you order the special, One beer, One garlic nan, and refuse the crackers and rice.
The crackers cost 1RM for 2crackers (1person) and they dont ask if you want them.

Dear JamboME,

I suspect you must be an Indian origin living in Kuala Lumpur.

Most of the Indian restaurants in Malaysia are South Indian outlet. It is their way of serving crackers along with rice and half a dozen curries for a fixed amount of 10, 15 and 20 depending on what type of restaurant you going.

You then feel the crackers is free. In fact it is not! You must realise NOTHING IS FREE IN THIS WORLD. We have to buy papadoms (crackers), spend our petrol to buy the crackers, fry in fresh oil using highly paid chefs, and then delivered to you in a separate plate which must be washed after you enjoy crackers. Its all cost money. However when the crackers is served to your table, if you don't want to consume it, please tell our staff that you do not want it. We gladly take it away.

You simply keep quiet hoping that by the grace of God, it can be free. When the bill come for RM1, you rebel in your mind, forgetting that you consumed it and enjoyed every bite of the crackers.

Please make use of this TripAdvisor to improve the outlet's taste and texture of the food and the service. Cleanliness and ambience of the restaurant and not to pick on the merger prices. We charged customers based on what is in the menu.

Please be magnanimous when traveling from your own city to another whether in Sarawak or outside world.

Your reviews must be aimed at improving the quality and texture of the food and drinks. We however thank you for visiting us and looking forward for a return visit and when you identify, we would not give you the crackers. If you do not want to identify, when the crackers is placed on your table, please tell our staff that you do not wish to avail it.

Thank you.

“Best Indian in Kuching”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

Very good Indian food served in a family run restaurant. The friendly owner will stop by for a chat to ensure you're enjoying the food. Simple ambience, and a huge menu to choose from, all Halal. Many different types of curry, tandoori, and naan breads. Tip - they will serve you a beer (only) "under the counter" if you ask the waiter quietly.

“Great Veggie Food!”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

I have tried Lyn's tandoori a few times and am always extremely please with the service as well as the food. I am a vegetarian and that is often a problem in Kuching - however, the menu here offers an extensive range of vegetarian food, and I always get to try something different.

I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
