Convenient location, real hospitability from staff, especially owner Imo, close to local eateries, classic mom-and-pop sundry shops selling local goodies, walking distance to city centre, attractions, one-stop centre to set up trips, safe, clean, good layout even for those staying at hostel/dorm (rooms are upstairs, bathroom/toilets laid out in one area on each floor rather than in weird locations like some b&bs), can do laundry, can cook in kitchen. Value for money for business or leisure travellers; also good for both short or long term stay.

Overall this place was great and just like the other reviewers have mentioned, it is like a "A home away from home".

The Good:
*The Staff, especially Emo who works during the day is simply awesome! Anything we needed help with she was ready to assist and was always friendly to every guest we saw interact with her
*The beds and pillows were very comfy, the dorm (3 bunk beds) was one of the best we've seen in SE Asia
*A/C in every room and common area
*Fantastic cooking facilities and dining area with free breakfast (bread and eggs)
*Very nice TV, sound system with over 100 DVDs and Blue Rays to choose from. They also have an Xbox 360 to play
*Shared bathrooms/showers are very clean
*Location is great, close to the river and along New China Town with many shops and restaurants

The Bad:
*There is only one item to mention and that is the owner "Adrienne". On our last day at this guesthouse we waited around all morning for someone to come to the front desk so we could book a night bus to Miri and ask them to restock the eggs from the day before. There was a girl who stayed in the dorm with us who left only a couple days before who booked the same bus to Miri so we knew we could do the same. Finally around 11am the owner comes to the front desk and I asked him if we could book a night bus. He then laughed like we were dumb for wanting to do this and told me "It's Sunday...the ticket office is closed". Then as he was walking away he says "You need to go to Kuching Sentral Station to book your ticket..." KL Sentral is about 15-25 minutes by local bus. We then asked him if there were anymore eggs for breakfast as we said there haven't been any since 8am, He said "well people get up much earlier than you to eat..." Of course this wasn't the case because we knew everyone who was staying at this guesthouse after 4 nights and none of them were up before us.

When Emo showed up (again she is staff NOT the owner) for her shift around 1pm, it took her less than 2 minutes to book the night bus for us and arrange a pickup from the guesthouse. So why was the owner not able to book this for us? Or let us know that another staff member could help us in a bit?

He also printed a sign and put it above the washer in response to us washing a small camera bag which the other staff had no problem with, that read "Are you stupid or something? Do not wash shoes or bag packs"

We found the guesthouse and the staff to be awesome but the owner was rude, stand offish, and not helpful in the least and really turned us off this place which we otherwise absolutely loved.

Room Tip: With two pillows, a beautiful duvet cover and comfy mattresses the beds are some of the best in SE A...

Great hostel! Very well run. Very clean. Great free breakfast and undoubtedly follows through with their mantra of creating a home from home! Would highly highly recommend it here. In fact, I don't know why you would stay anywhere else in Kuching...as a traveller you want for nothing more from a guesthouse!

We stayed here for a week or so and was made to feel welcome the moment we arrived. A very relaxed but hard working staff cannot had done enough to make our time in kuching a gret one. Rooms and communal areas are exceptionally clean and the communal kitchen and dining area are well equipped and well stocked. Location is not so central (say 10 minute walk into the centre) but a great little spot none the less in new china town with some great places to eat and drink for half the price of centre. Could not recommend highly enough. One of our favourite places in Asia after 6 months of travelling.

Beds is located in a fine location within short walking distance to many areas of the city. Upon entering the building you find yourself in a lovely chilled out lounge and are greeted by one of the extremely cheerful and helpful family members that run the place. Everywhere is spotlessly clean (they must clean the bathrooms every minute of the day!) and the beds very comfortable. Showers warm in nice big cubicles. The kitchen area allows you to serve yourself tea, coffee, eggs and toast at any time of the day. You will need a chilled out day after visiting the many sights in and around Kuching and so help yourself to one of the many DVDs on offer! A nice chilled and cheerful place to stay, so much so I extended for 2 more nights! Thank you!
