We didn't actually have any food here, but we did however look at the menu and knew it was going to be terrible. The menu ranges from local food, to western, to thai and chinese. Every item on the menu is overpriced (a coke that costs RM4.50 in Kuching, you've got to be kidding), and what food we saw on the tables around us looked quite pathetic. The only thing it has going for it is the beautiful view of the Waterfront, as it really opens out to the river. There was little to no ambience, and the restaurant appeared quite dirty as well, with sticky menus and tables. A shame when you think about the potential it could be given it's location.

Don't despair though, there are TWO food courts across the river (on the northern side of Kuching, just cross the river from Khatulistiwa on a sampan for RM0.50) which serves much more appealing food. We tried the fruit juices there and they were truly amazing, very cheap too! Plus, they have the exact same view of the majestic river, probably better as you can now see a whole new perspective of Kuching!

I ordered wasabi steak and it is as hard as rock & full of fat. They should change their chef. Order was late and staff has no courtesy to say sorry!

It is a nice place to eat. The food is average but the view is perfect. Although when I gone it was ramadan and we heard the imam all the time we were there, anyway, it was very nice.

Based on a recommendation of the concierge at the Pullman where we where staying, we walked down to this restaurant for dinner on a Sunday night. We wish we hadn't.

It was not all bad, as the orange and pineapple juices were freshly pressed, and the iced lemon tea was nice too. The food though overall was pretty terrible. As a party of seven, we ordered a lot of dishes, but only the fried rice and the black pepper kway teow were OK. The lemongrass lamb looked great on the menu was utterly disgusting, swimming in a soupy substrate, full of bone and sinew and gristle and having the consistency of vulcanized rubber. Other dishes included serawak laksa, black pepper mussels, tom yam goong, and something else I've forgotten were less than OK.

The service was flaky. At one point we had trouble attracting the attention of the waiters as they were watching TV, and the waitress seemed to resent having to take our order while her program was on. Later one waiter asked us "Don't you know how to use chopsticks?" Well, they'd only given three sets of chopsticks for a table of seven, so obviously most of us didn't have any.

It wasn't even value for money with prices definitely on the high end for a place like Kuching. Alcoholic drinks are expensive too as you get cocktails for pretty much the same price at Deja Vu in the Pullman Hotel in a much, much nicer setting. While the restaurant is decently decorated and looks OK, it seems to be survive by virtue of its location and the lack of competition. The previous night's dinner at Benson's was much better (decent food and much better service).

This is a nice little place in an excellent location on the esplanade with really nice views over the river. Try and get a table by the railings with the views. That however is the best thing about it.

The food is nice enough, nothing special but quite nice. It is better for snacks and fruit drinks than meals (the banana milkshake is the best!) It is slightly overpriced though, compared to other places in Kuching simply because of its location on the esplanade. It is still worth trying out for one or two lunches though.
