“Great location, facilities, room & food, LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2011

The rating dropped from Excellent to Very Good due to the poor customer service experienced in this otherwise 5-star hotel!

The front office staff really need some extra training in terms of courtesy. Hardly smiled at all, and unfortunate to note that their smiles were only reserved for westerners! Their attitude is just plain rude, without even acknowledging or looking the guest in the eye when talking. Unacceptable! Pullman management pls do some about this. Your frontliners are those who give the 1st impression to guests!

Though food was great (breakfast at Puzzle & dinner at Nu Er Hong), hygiene was an issue. Glasses and cutleries had oily stains, cups had chipped surfaced, and hard boiled eggs has poop on it. Shocking!

The facilities were first class, but gym lacks bar-bells. This is unheard of in a gym! Being a regular guest at your hotel, I appeal that you upgrade your equipment from time to time. Otherwise, I am sure guests grow fed-up with same old equipments, and no bar-bells!

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights August 11 while on a holiday in Kuching. The hotel is a really beautiful new 5 star hotel which I am sure would be the best in Kuching without a doubt. The hotel is well located but not on the water. The waterfront is a mere 3 minute walk away and from our room on the 17th floor we could see 180 degree views across the city and the up and down the river.
We had a deluxe room which was huge and had spectacular views. The bathroom was enormous and also had terrific views down to the river. It was pretty special having a shower and looking through to the river and watching dragon boats train. The room lacked for nothing and even had a pilates mat and weights provided.
Cleaning staff were never seen but always did their job competently.
Pool is large and has excellent quality poolside furniture. You could easily spend a happy day just around the pool. Also a very large spa in the pool area. Next to the pool is a great gym with a large array of gym equipment and pilates equipment available for use.
A special treat is available to guests at the Relaxation Spa on the floor above the pool. For no cost you can use their wonderful jacuzzi and sauna facilities. Be aware however, that the men and women have separate facilities. Lovely at the end of the day to slip in and have a quiet jacuzzi with relaxing music playing.
Breakfast at the hotel is excellent with an array of western and asian foods that would make any guest happy.
Reception staff and porter staff etc were all excellent and made the stay even nicer.
In short, this would have to be the best hotel we have stayed at and if you are considering staying here do not hesitate. The rates at the moment are very low for what you get. This can't remain so forever so take advantage of the low rates while you can.

We stayed 2 nights last weekend in this lovely hotel. Adequate space and light, fancy room decor and great food quality from the restaurant & cafe in the hotel.

There's a seafood center which is 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel named Top Spot. One could enjoy great seafood with less than US$20/pax. We recommend ling long seafood - their black pepper crab is good. We basically had seafood dinner for the whole weekend!

One thing lack is the hotel is quite pricey! They don't provide a B&B package so you need to pay extra MR40++(about US$16)/pax for breakfast.

Room Tip: Lovely hotel with good location but a bit pricey(the hidden cost) Remember to try their delicious co...

Stayed ay the Pullman 27th July to 31st July
We were in two minds when booking our trip should we stay in the Hilton or the Pullman i must be honest and say for location it would be the Hilton better view over looking the Sarawak river,we were however put off a little bit by reading some reviews which indicated the Hilton was a bit dated.
The Pullman has been opened for just over a year and it boasts a stunning lobby with a grand entrance.
We stayed in room 714 which does not have the best views for a double superior room,
a list with the rooms amenities certainly does not reflect what is actually in the room.
Many items were missing which included a hair dryer, and a small fridge that did not work not what you would expect of a 5 star hotel.
I requested on three of our four day stay to have them attend to our request but it seemed to fall on deaf ears, our final request was more of a demand and to our surprise the fridge was repaired or replaced but nothing was done about the request for a hair dryer and talk about communication we had a knock on the door the night before we left to ask if we had problems that had to be fixed.
The rooms were very spacious and thank goodness for air conditioning.
We had breakfast on three of our four day stay in the hotel, which had the best variety and quality that we had experienced.
But would we stay at the Pullman again probably not, would give the Hilton a visit instead.

New and very comfortable hotel with partial view of the river. Rooms are spacious and clean. Huge bathroom with separate bath/shower. Good sized regular shaped swimming pool and well appointed gym.
The front office staff are real assets. Professional yet friendly and very informative. Mr Cox who handled my checkin also happily gave recommendations and directions to local food delights. We tried them, all within walking distance of the Pullman - yummy kolou mee at Green Hill Corner and Sin Min Joo (Jln Bishopsgate) barely 200m and 500m away, respectively, and Top Spot Seafood Centre 300m down the hill.

The room is spacious, clean and coozy. This is one of the best hotel I ever stay. Too bad, I do not have much time to explore the erst of the facilities. I'll definitely be there again with my family.

We stayed at the Pullman for a total of 5 nights and it was awesome. Great rooms, clean, quiet and the breakfast is the best ever. Well worth the money. The swimming pool is levely and the pool boys are great. The bathrroms are huge with a shower and a bath and we could find no fault. I would recommend the Pullman to anyone staying in Kuching.
