“Awesome food and atmosphere under one roof”

There's so many varieties to choose from. The food are awesome and the waitresses are friendly. My favorites are the toasted bread with kaya, chicken rice, soupy porridge and kolo mee.

“Yeow Kee Kopitiam (YKK)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2010

This is the BEST place to hang out for cheap food. It's like an all in one cafe where you get the BEST food all at one place. It can get really busy every morning, especially weekends, but it's really worth the wait. Everything is very affordable and the service is excellent! I'm very impressed by the simplicity yet high standard of food quality and service in this place.

“the locals' favourite kopitiam'”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2009

This is not a restaurant, but rather a coffee shop, or kopitiam in local language. The popularity of a Kuching kopitiam can easily be gauged by looking at the crowd and the willingness of some to stand patiently nearby and ''claim'' the table quickly once the finishing customers get up, and this kopitiam has no shortage of such customers especially during weekends.

Speciality here is the wide choices of "kuih" or pastry such as popiah, coconut pastry, yam "kuih", baked glutinous rice (pulut panggang) and many others. Also very popular is the "roti kahwin", toasted bread spread with margerine and kaya (coconut jam). great for light eaters. wash them down with the aromatic black coffee (my fave) or teh-see (tea with evaporated milk).

There are about 10 stalls here, of which I can remember off-hand are: kolo mee, sarawak laksa, chicken rice, char kueh tiaw, Foochow specialties like kampua mee(Sibu's version of kolo mee), mee sua (longevity noodle), fry noodles, and even dim sum. And all of them serving the best of their food (the crowd say so!)

Unfortunately for travellers, it is quite a distance from town. but if you need to take a taxi, just tell him its at Premier 101, the far end of Choice Premier Supermarket, on the way to the airport. A good idea is to tip the cabbie for waiting for you while you eat,on your way to the airport.
